Chapter 1235

    ?Chapter 1235:

Feeling worse, Hadley longed to head home and copse into bed. But a message from Elvin popped up, asking her to stop by the lounge afterward to talk.

    Reluctantly, she obliged.

In the lounge, Elvin wasn’t there yet.

As assistant director, he was juggling countless tasks.

Hadley sank into a chair, waiting patiently.

    Nearly an hourter, Elvin arrived.

“Hadley, sorry for making you wait.”

    She smiled.

“No problem. What did you want to discuss?”

    Elvin cut to the chase.

“You haven’t signed with an agency yet, have you?”

“No,” Hadley said, shaking her head.

“How about joining my studio then?”

    Hadley blinked, surprised.

    “Your studio?”

    “Yeah,” Elvin said, leaning forward.

“Yourst drama’s about to air, and the new one’sing up. You’re officially in the movie industry now. Haven’t you thought about needing a team behind you?”

Hadley hadn’t given it much thought before.

    Elvin spected,

“Does Mr. Scott have something lined up for you?”

    He was referring to Eric.

“No!” Hadley shook her head quickly, unsure how to rify her tie to Eric.

    “He and I…”

    Elvinughed, waving it off.

“No need to spell out your rtionship with him. But since he hasn’t made any moves, why not consider my offer? I can pull in resources, and with your skills, I think we would make a great team.”

    Hadley didn’t doubt his sincerity.

Elvin had been her entry point to the industry, and her current opportunities stemmed from him. Still, it was a big step, and she wavered.

    Elvin didn’t push.

“Think it over and get back to me.”

    “Okay,” Hadley said, relieved.

    “I’ll head out now.”

    “Take care.”

Outside, the sun still lingered, but Hadley shivered.

Eager to rest, she hailed a cab, nning to take fever medicine and sleep.

Back at the apartment, Joy bounded over the moment Hadley walked in.

    “Mommy! Where’s my blueberry cheesecake?”

Upon hearing Joy’s words, Hadley’s heart sank as she remembered her oversight.

    “Joy, I’m so sorry…”
