?Chapter 1226:
“Boycott this drama! It shouldn’t even be aired! Even if it is, I’ll make sure not to watch it! It’s doomed to flop!”
There were still a few voices rising in Hadley’s defense.
“Withhold judgment until we know the full story.”
“Why hasn’t she stepped forward to exin things? Who is that man to her?”
“Is that middle-aged guy her father or a rtive? What kind of decent person visits a strip club with a family elder anyway?”
“Gnt is known for its scandalous name. Isn’t thatmon knowledge in Srixby?”
“Who is Hadley anyway?”
“Just an unknown actress who used to be publicly involved with Eric! And that was back when Eric still carried the Flynn name.”
“Good grief! Does Eric know what kind of woman she really is?” “On the street, they’re saying they have broken up. He probably found out the truth and dumped her!”
“These people have way too much time on their hands,” Elissa muttered, her irritation mounting. “It’s all just idle gossip!”
Hadley let out a self-deprecating chuckle. “But they are not entirely wrong.”
Once upon a time, she had set her sights on bing Duran’s mistress and hade dangerously close to making that happen.
Just then, the door creaked open, and Eric stepped inside. He offered Elissa a faint nod before settling into the seat across from them.
Hadley held her breath, her eyes locked onto him.
“You two should talk,” Elissa said, knowing they had things to discuss. She stood up and headed to the kitchen. “I’ll get Eric a ss of water.”
“Thank you,” Eric said with a subtle nod of appreciation.
“You are wee.”
As soon as Elissa left, Eric lifted his gaze and looked at Hadley.

“The posts have been taken down. We have also identified the person behind it.”
“You already found them?”
Hadley blinked, caught off guard by how fast the investigation had moved.
Her fingers curled into tight fists in herp, and she sat up straighter. “Who was it?”
Eric mentioned a name. “Do you know him? He was a security guard at Gnt when you were also working there.”
“I have no idea who that is.” Hadley shook her head, clearly baffled. She couldn’t possibly recognize every staff member at Gnt.
“Why would he want to target me?”
“That part’s still unclear.” Eric shook his head. “He has already fled Srixby, and his phone’s unreachable.”
His lips curled into a sneer as he continued, “He can run for now but can’t stay hidden forever.”
Unless he avoided using a phone, credit card, or ID—which is nearly impossible in today’s world.
“Cordell is already keeping tabs on it,” Eric added.
But for now, there was something more pressing to address.
Eric paused and then changed the topic. His voice took on a note of hesitation. “Given the current situation…”
