Chapter 1180

    ?Chapter 1180:

“Oh…” Hadley ced a hand over her chest, exhaling slowly, though the tension in her body didn’t ease.

She looked up at Denver. Her eyes had turned slightly red. “Denver, thank you.”

Though the weight of the gratitude she felt was hard to put into words.

“It’s alright,” he replied, emotions stirring inside him.

Suddenly, the emergency room’s automatic doors slid open with a hiss, and a nurse rushed out.

“Family of the patient who was just brought in?” she called urgently. “His condition is critical. The doctor has issued a critical status alert. We need a family member to sign the consent form immediately!”

The door to the emergency room hung slightly open. Faint voices spilled out from inside.

    “Administer the antagonist!”

“One thousand milliliters of bnced fluid! Increase the pressure!”

    “Increase the oxygen flow!”

“The patient’s heart has stopped beating!”

“Prepare for defibrition! Where’s the blood gas analysis? Tell theb to hurry! Adjust the charge. Everyone clear!”

“I-Is it Brady?” Hadley stood frozen, her heart hammering in her chest. She stepped forward toward a nurse searching for family members. “Excuse me, I—”

“Hadley!” Denver caught her from behind. “Wait!”

From another door, a nurse emerged, pushing a gurney while ncing at the medical chart in her hand.

“Is there a family member of Brady Jenkins here?”

Hadley was momentarily stunned. But, thank goodness, it wasn’t bad news. She quickly stepped forward. “Here! I’m his sister!”

“The patient’s condition is stable. There are still sedatives in his system, but we’ve already started fluids to help flush them out. He’s listed as a donor for the hematology department. A doctor there has already checked in, and he can be transferred straight back.”

“Alright. Thank you!” Hadley looked down at Brady lying on the gurney. Her eyes filled with tears.

The grip on her chest finally loosened. The tension that had weighed on her for days began to melt away.

The past few days had been nothing but agony.

    Thankfully, he made it through.

Brady was transferred back to the hematology department.

On the way there, he slowly regained consciousness.

“Hadley,” he rasped, struggling to open his eyes. His throat felt like sandpaper. “Am I… dreaming?”

“You’re awake?” Hadley, her eyes red, clutched his hand. “No, it’s not a dream. It’s really me. We’re at the hospital!”

    Brady’s brow furrowed.

Thest thing he remembered was stumbling out of the cabin, barely able to stay on his feet while making his way down the mountain.

“I’m sorry for making you worry,” he said in a hoarse whisper.

“What are you even apologizing for?” Hadley forced an angry tone, but her voice wavered with emotion. “You were drugged and still thinking about Joy. Thank goodness you’re alright.”
