Chapter 1141

    ?Chapter 1141:

But he had no right to care anymore.

Without another nce, Eric climbed back into the car and drove it towards the parking lot, pretending he hadn’t seen Hadley at all.

Hadley nced down at her phone. Where was Denver? Why wasn’t he here yet?

“Hadley,” a familiar voice called out.

Linda wheeled herself through the doorway and looked up at Hadley with a poised smile.

    “It’s been a while.”

“Yes,” Hadley replied curtly, offering only a polite nod.

She frowned subtly. Why had Lindae to her? There was no conversation to be had between them.

“By the way,” Linda said, her voice smooth but unwavering, making it perfectly clear she wasn’t about to let Hadley wriggle free that easily. A mischievous grin tugged at her lips as she posed the question.

“Is there a reason you and Eric didn’t talk just now? You looked like strangers. Now that you’ve broken up, you can’t even be friends?”

Hadley’s face hardened. Her eyes narrowed, and a sharp smile tugged at her lips.

    “You’re right.”

“Really?” Linda arched an eyebrow, unbothered by the bite in Hadley’s tone. “Then I suppose you don’t know… He’s with me now.”

Shock flickered across Hadley’s face, her eyes widening.

“You heard me,” Linda said, her voice tinged with smug amusement. “I moved out of the Flynn family estate. We’re living together now.”

Hadley’s lips parted slightly. They were living together? A shock, yes. But not a revtion.

Linda had always been driven—strategic, even ruthless.

And Eric… It seemed he had never truly stopped loving her.

    Linda’s expression gleamed with triumph.

    “Nothing to say?”

Hadley couldn’t think of a single reason to respond.

“Oh.” Then, slowly, Hadley smiled. “Well then. Congrattions. Seems your wish finally came true.”

“Thank you.” Linda received it smoothly, not missing a beat.

But her eyes sharpened, her tone turning cold and pointed.

“Just remember this, Hadley—keep treating Eric like a stranger. No small talk. Not even a single word.”

Hadley blinked, stunned for a second. So, this was a warning? Moving in with Eric had emboldened Linda.

“Hadley!” a breathless voice called out.

She turned. Denver was hurrying toward her.

Mere secondster, Denver was in front of Hadley, a little breathless, as if he’d run the whole way.

“Sorry I’mte. The meeting ran over. Have you been waiting long?”

“No.” Hadley smiled. “You got here just in time for dinner. Come on—let’s head in. The weather is shifting, and the wind has begun to howl with growing force.”

    “Alright.”
