Chapter 1110

    ?Chapter 1110:

“The maid brought diluted disinfectant to clean the bathroom—and your mother drank it. She’s been rushed to the hospital. Your father asked me to inform you.”

“How could you let this happen?” Eric’s voice rose with fury. “I’ming now!”

He ended the call, threw on clothes, grabbed his car keys, and sped to the hospital.

As soon as he entered the emergency room, his mother Milly’s frantic cries rang out. “No, no, don’t!”

She was thrashing, terrified, as nurses struggled to restrain her. A doctor turned to Ferris, flustered. “Mr. Scott, we can’t proceed with the gastricvage while she’s resisting like this.”

“Hold her down!” Ferris snapped. “If anything happens to her—” Eric burst into the room like a storm at that moment, his presencemanding.

Milly shook violently, her lips bloodied from biting down. She looked like a cornered animal.

    “Let her go!” Eric barked.

Startled by his authority, the nurses released her.

“Ah!” Milly broke free and tried to flee.

“Eric!” Ferris called out. “Stop your mother!”

Eric lunged forward and caught her. His grip was firm, though his hands trembled. “Mom! It’s me!”

For the first time in his life, he addressed her like that. His eyes shimmered with emotion.

“The doctor isn’t trying to hurt you! You swallowed something dangerous, and they need to help you get it out!”

Milly leaned into him, uncertain. Slowly, she tilted her head and looked at him. “You… are my son?”

Eric’s heart stuttered. She knew him?

He nodded, throat tight. “Yes. I’m your son.”

She didn’t answer. Instead, she clutched his hand tighter, staring into his face. “My son… mine…”

Tears welled in Eric’s eyes. After nearly thirty years of madness, she remembered—she still knew her son.

“Mom.” Eric gently lifted her onto the examination bed. “Let them help. I’ll stay with you the whole time, okay?”

“Okay.” Her voice was soft, her eyes still red, but her body finally rxed.

“Hurry,” Ferris urged the doctor. “Don’t waste this moment.”

After the procedure, Milly was transferred to a hospital room. Fortunately, the disinfectant had been diluted enough to minimize the damage, though treatment was still required.

Outside the hospital room, Eric turned on Ferris. “Is this how you take care of her?”

Ferris didn’t argue. “It’s my fault.”

Eric let out a bitterugh. “She suffers like this, and all you can say is it’s your fault?”

“What do you expect me to say?” Ferris sighed. “Do you think I wanted this to happen? That I’m not worried sick?”

Eric’s fists clenched, but then rxed. As much as he hated this, what could he really do?

    He turned toward the door.
