Chapter 1106

    ?Chapter 1106:

Eric pressed a hand to his forehead, overwhelmed. So much suddenly made sense…

Hadley hadn’t left him because she didn’t care about Joy.

She had likely left because of Brady.

Brady, her brother, was probably also Joy’spatible donor. He could save Joy.

A chill ran down Eric’s spine.

He lit another cigarette, eyes narrowing as the smoke curled around him.

Ten years. He had known Hadley for a decade. And yet… what did he really know about her?

He vaguely remembered their first meeting—her long hair, the shy way she had greeted him and his brother.

“Eric, Ernest, nice to meet you,” she’d said, soft but polite.

That was all he could recall.

He leaned back, covering his eyes with one hand, the cigarette burning between his fingers.

He had wasted all those years. While he was wrapped up in his own guilt and duty, trying to repay Ernest and take care of Linda, he had overlooked the one person who had been right there all along.

    And now… it was toote.

Eric drove off from the neighborhood.

On the road, a message from Linda popped up. “When are youing home? I made all your favorite dishes.”

He nced at the phone, then tossed it aside without replying. Instead, he pressed down on the elerator and headed toward Poseidon’s Realm.

At Silver Vis, Linda sat at the dining table, phone in hand, the foodid out before her gone cold.

Two hours had passed. No word from Eric.

She sneered and then wheeled herself closer to the table. If he wasn’t going toe, then she would eat alone.

The next morning, Hadley came downstairs and immediately spotted Eric’s car parked outside.

Her steps faltered. Had he arrived early, or had he stayed the whole night?

Just then, the driver’s side door opened and Eric stepped out.

He gave her a slight nod. “Get in the car.” Then he added, “I know you’re heading to the sanatorium. Ernest is busy today, so I’m taking care of Elissa’s hospitalization arrangements.”

    So that was it.

Elissa’s surgery had been scheduled, and starting from today, she’d be staying at the hospital.

Hadley had agreed to help her move.

Eric opened the door for her, resting one hand on the roof as he waited.

“Alright,” she said softly and slid into the passenger seat.

At the sanatorium, everything was packed. To avoid confusing Elissa with a new helper, Laney would continue to look after her. After picking them up, Eric and Hadley arrived at the hospital. While Hadley stayed with Elissa in the ward, Eric handled the formalities.

Elissa seemed nervous. “Thank you, Mr. Flynn.”
