?Chapter 1084:
As she held his arm, she whispered softly, “I know you’re in a lot of pain. Just remember, I’m here for you…”
Without warning, Eric’s grip on her hand tightened.
“Eric?” Linda gasped, a flush spreading across her cheeks. “Are you with me?”
But he was not truly awake.
In his half-conscious state, he murmured, “Hadley, Hadley…”
Linda recoiled, her expression turning icy as she pulled her hand back. “Hadley again… Is she all that matters to you? Can’t you let her go?”
The next morning, Eric stirred from his hangover, his head aching faintly. Daylight streamed in through the window, and the air carried the scent of warm food.
As he sat up, Linda wheeled over to him. “You’re awake?”
“Linda?” Eric massaged his temples. “What brings you here?”
“It’s not just a visit. I whipped up something tasty for you.”
With a gentle smile, Linda nudged him. “You reek of booze. Go clean up and thene have something to eat.”
“Alright.”
Still feeling the aftereffects of his hangover, Eric consented and headed to freshen up.
Upon his return, he found the dining table meticulously arranged.
“Come, have a seat,” Linda invited, cing a bowl of soup before him. “You’ve just woken up from a hangover. This soup should help kickstart your appetite.”
“Thanks,” Eric acknowledged, settling into a chair.
Linda then said, “I stopped byst night to check on you. The housekeeper was about to leave for the day, and she let me in. You were out cold from drinking, so I stayed and cooked this morning.”
Eric, cradling the bowl of soup, seemed to remember something.
“Oh, there’s something I forgot to mention,” Linda added.
“I’ve moved into the house next door. Looks like we’re neighbors now.”

“What?” Eric paused mid-sip, taken aback.
So, she was the new neighbor?
He frowned. “Why?”
“Why do you think?” Linda replied yfully, her smile widening. “To keep youpany, of course.”
“Linda…”
“Don’t even try to change my mind,” she said, still smiling. “You and I, we’re no longer with the Flynns. I’ve ended things with Ernest, so it doesn’t make sense for me to stay at the Flynn Mansion anymore.”
Eric remained silent, not sure how to respond.
“Come on, eat,” Linda encouraged, cing more food on his te.
“Don’t tell me my cooking has gotten worse?”
“No, not at all,” Eric replied quickly, picking up his fork. “It’s delicious.”
Linda’s smile brightened. “Then have some more.”
After they finished eating, Eric sent Linda back to her new home right next door.
Although she had moved out, her legs still required medical attention, and a doctor came by daily to check on her.
Linda had also arranged for a full-time caregiver to assist her at home. When they arrived, the doctor was already there waiting.
