Chapter 1042

    ?Chapter 1042:

Hadley froze, blindsided. A wedding? So soon? The moment she had long imagined was finally here.

    Flynn Mansion, afternoon.

After lunch, N lounged in her rocking chair, drifting into a light nap.

The doorbell’s chime stirred her, and Kira hurried to answer it. “Who’s there?”

Momentster, Kira returned, holding a big envelope. “Mrs. Flynn, an urgent delivery for you.”

“What?” N blinked, shaking off her drowsiness. “For me? That couldn’t be right.”

She had retired and stopped managing family affairs for years—who would send her an urgent package?

    “Open it,” she instructed.

    “Alright.”

Kira slit the envelope, and N slipped on her reading sses, pulling out the contents to inspect them.

Slowly, her face shifted, her breath quickening.

She looked up, her voice sharp. “Hurry—call Ernest and Eric. Tell them to get here now!”

“Yes, ma’am!” Kira, seeing N’s grave expression, didn’t hesitate and rushed to make the calls.

Forty minutester, Ernest and Eric arrived simultaneously at the mansion’s entrance, exchanging bewildered nces. They had no clue why N had summoned them so urgently.

Stepping into the living room, they found her seated rigidly on the sofa, her face stern, her eyes keen and piercing.

Ernest and Eric shared another uneasy look. They hadn’t seen their grandmother this intense in years.

“Grandma, we’re here,” Ernest said, standing tall and deferential.

“Okay, Grandma?” Eric added, shing a lighthearted smile.

    ???? ??d???? ?? g????????.????

    N didn’t respond immediately.

Her gaze flicked from Ernest to Eric, lingering as she studied them.

After a pause, N fixed her eyes back on Ernest and asked, “Who is he?”

Ernest’s mouth fell open slightly, caught off guard. “Grandma, who are you talking about?”

N’s lips curved into a faint, chilly smile as she pointed at Eric. “I’m asking you, who is he?”

Both brothers froze, their eyes darting to each other in shock. “What are you standing around for?” N snapped, sensing something was off.

Deciding not to press Ernest further, she turned her sharp gaze on Eric, sizing him up from head to toe.

“If Ernest won’t answer, you will. Now, tell me. Who are you?”

“Grandma…” Eric tried to keep his cool, forcing a grin. “It’s me, Eric, your grandson. What’s going on?”

“Yeah,” Ernest chimed in, frowning. “Grandma, don’t you know Eric?”

“Eric?” N echoed, her tone skeptical.

    “Yes.”

She braced herself on the armrests and stepped slowly toward him. Eric moved to meet her, concern in his eyes.
