?Chapter 918:
After providing the detailed address and a quick summary, she ended the call, only to hear a knock at the door momentster.
Her mind raced—who could it be? The ambnce surely wouldn’t have arrived that fast.
Puzzled, Hadley hurried to open it, revealing Xander and Theodore.
“Miss Pearson, were you the one yelling? Is Mr. Flynn alright?” Xander asked.
“Yes, that was me!” Hadley nodded immediately, gesturing inside.
“He’s fainted!”
The two men sprang into action, coordinating to lift Eric.
As Xander hoisted him onto his back, Hadley stifled a cry, her hand flying to her mouth.
Under the harsh light, she saw it—crimson staining the cor of his white shirt, blood still seeping from the back of his head and neck.
“I’ve called the hospital—”
“They’ll be here soon!” she managed to say.
“We’ll head downstairs to meet them!” Xander replied, already moving with Eric.
Theodore nced at her. “Miss Pearson, are youing along?”
Hadley’s brows knit together as she wavered, and then she nodded.
“Yes, I’ll go.”
At the hospital, outside the operating room, Eric was whisked inside.
Hadley sank onto a bench by the door, her eyes fixed on the scuffed tips of her shoes.

Footsteps echoed on the floor, a mix of steady and hurried, yet all undeniably rushed.
Hadley looked up to see Ernest and Linda approaching.
“Hadley.”
“Hadley!” Ernest started, but Linda cut in sharply. “You’ve got some nerve! Eric barely stepped off the ne, and you insisted hee see you? He was already so badly injured!”
“I insisted?” Hadley arched a brow, a wry smile flickering. “Oh, please. Why would he push himself to see me in that state? His stubbornness is honestly ridiculous.”
“What?” Linda’s eyes zed with outrage. “How can you even say that? Do you have no conscience, Hadley?”
Hadley sighed, turning her head to avoid the tirade.
“Hadley!” Linda’s fury erupted, and she lunged forward, seizing Hadley’s arm. “Get out! You don’t belong here!”
“Let go!” Hadley twisted free, her stare icy. “I decide if I stay—not you!”
“Get out! I said get out!” Linda continued to scream.
“Enough!” Ernest’s voice boomed, his face shadowed with frustration. “Quit bickering! Do you want to disturb Eric even now?”
Though Ernest usually exuded a quiet calm, his rare anger carried an authority no one dared challenge.
Linda immediately hushed, her grip on Hadley loosening as she stepped back.
