Chapter 876

    ?Chapter 876:

Ernest asked, “You tell me—what else should I do?”

Eric had no answer. With Linda, neither of them ever had control. They just went along with whatever she wanted.

“Let her go,” Ernest said finally. “If she wants toe back, the Flynn family doors are always open.”

Late that night at the sanatorium, Elissa’s caregivery asleep in the room with her.

Since Elissa was blind, someone always stayed close to attend to her needs.

Suddenly, Elissa threw off her nket and stood up.

The caregiver stirred. “Miss Hond?” she mumbled, half-awake. “Do you need something? Bathroom? Water?”

But Elissa didn’t respond. She walked straight to the door and stepped out.

Startled, the caregiver jumped up and followed. “Miss Hond?” Outside, Elissa stretched her arms ahead of her, palms searching the air as if trying to find something.

The caregiver frowned. “What are you looking for?”

Still no answer. Elissa moved slowly, feeling her way forward, seemingly unaware of her surroundings.

A chill crept up the caregiver’s spine. “Was she sleepwalking?” she thought.

Elissa stopped in front of the sofa, picked up a cushion, and cradled it in her arms like a baby. Gently, she began to pat it, as if rocking a child to sleep.

The caregiver gasped and covered her mouth in horror.

“Wait just a moment,” the caregiver said, trying to stay calm as she reached for her phone to call the doctor.

But before she could, Elissa clutched the cushion to her chest and headed for the door.

Though blind, she moved with uncanny precision—navigating the room without bumping into a thing. She reached the door and opened it with ease.

Panicking, the caregiver rushed after her. “Miss Hond! Where are you going?”

She knew that people who were sleepwalking typically couldn’t hear others.

“Miss Hond!” In desperation, she grabbed her arm. “You can’t go outside! It’s cold and dangerous at this hour!”

To her surprise, Elissa suddenly paused. Her vacant eyes turned in her direction, unfocused yet eerily direct.

“Miss Hond?” the caregiver whispered, relieved. She assumed Elissa had snapped out of it.

But before she could say more, Elissa’s body ckened. Her eyes rolled back, and she copsed on the spot.

“Miss Hond!” The caregiver cried out, lunging to catch her. They both went down.

Breathless and rmed, she gently tapped Elissa’s cheeks. “Can you hear me? Are you alright?”

There was no response. Elissa’s jaw was clenched, her body unresponsive.

“Somebody help! Doctor! Nurse! Miss Hond’s copsed!” Medical staff rushed in, lifting Elissa from the floor.

    “How did this happen?”

    “Call Mr. Flynn immediately!”

That winter night, bitter and cold, Ernest raced to the sanatorium. Elissay pale and unconscious in her bed, her chest rising and falling with shallow breaths.
