?Chapter 776:
“I will, Mr. Hond!”
“Good, then. Goodbye for now.”
With that, Addy turned, his presence soon swallowed up by the crowd as they moved on.
Hadley stood rooted in ce, stunned.
Her mind raced.
Elissa was not with Addy at all.
Eric had lied to her.
The first time she had asked for his help, he had deceived her.
Why? Was there a hidden reason? Or was the answer painfully simple—he had never intended to help her in the first ce?
To him, her concerns didn’t matter—she, more precisely, didn’t matter.
Hadley picked up her phone and dialed Eric’s number.
No answer.
Was he busy, or had he simply not heard it?
She was about to try again when Tessie appeared, slightly out of breath.
“Miss Pearson! There you are. The director needs you for a quick meeting.”
“Alright, I’ming.”
Hadley sighed, slipping her phone back into her pocket and heading off.
After the meeting, she returned to the practice room.
The moment she stepped inside, Megan rushed toward her.
“Miss Pearson, you’re back! Perfect timing. I have a question.”
Hadley assumed it was about dance techniques. “Go ahead.”
Megan, however, frowned. “Where’s Linda? Why isn’t she here?”
Taken aback, Hadley hadn’t expected that.
She nced around at the other artists. Though their expressions were carefully controlled, the air was thick with unspoken tension—some looked amused, others irritated.
“Well…”
“Nah.”
A few chuckles broke the silence, but no one gave a straight answer.
Megan wasn’t letting it go. “Miss Pearson, is she caught up with something?”
“I wouldn’t know,” Hadley admitted. “I’m here to offer advice on dancing techniques, not to manage the artists’ schedules.”
“Ugh…” Someone sighed. “This isn’t the first time. She’s been absent a lottely. Last time, we waited for her for almost an hour, and she never showed.”
“So, is sheing today or not?”
“Hard to say. Well… she’s popr and busy.”
Megan raised an eyebrow. “If she’s so busy, maybe she shouldn’t be in the center position. Right, Miss Pearson?”
Hadley hesitated. “That’s not a decision I can make.”
