Chapter 750

    ?Chapter 750:

Hadley grabbed her phone to call Elissa, but it went straight to voicemail.

Hadley attempted to call several more times, but to no avail, each attempt ending with the same cold, impersonal message.

Hadley was in a state of panic. Without much thought, she grabbed her phone and dialed Ernest.

“Ernest, Elissa is missing! The nurse said her family took her, but who could it be? I just tried calling her, but it went straight to voicemail…”

As soon as the words left her mouth, Hadley took a deep breath, realizing how abrupt her call must have seemed. It wasn’t like Ernest had any real connection to Elissa.

“Sorry, Ernest. I acted without thinking. I was just too anxious.”

For reasons she couldn’t quite exin, he was the first person who came to mind when she needed help.

“It’s okay.” Ernest let her finish before responding with his usual calmness. “Don’t worry. I’ll have Quentin look into it.”

Hadley felt warmth spread through her chest. “Thank you, Ernest.”

“No need to thank me.” His voice was steady, reassuring. “Just stay calm and wait for my update.”

    “Alright.”

After the call ended, Hadley left the hospital for work, but her mind remained elsewhere, preupied with thoughts of Elissa. Having once known the weight of loneliness herself, she felt an undeniable sympathy for her friend. If even she ignored Elissa now, how deste would that be?

Around noon, her phone rang. She answered it immediately.

“Ernest? Do you have news about Elissa?”

“Yes.” His tone remained level, as if he were guiding her away from unnecessary worry. “She was indeed taken by her family.”

    Hadley frowned. “Who took her?”

Could it be Robin? If Elissa was in his hands, would she even have a way out?

    “It was Addy Hond.”

    Hadley blinked. “Addy Hond?”

The name meant nothing to her. But with the surname Hond, was he Elissa’s father?

    “Her grandfather,” Ernest rified.

“Elissa is with her family now, so you can rest easy. He will take good care of her.”

To provide further reassurance, he added, “Addy is a renowned painter. His name carries considerable weight in the art world.”

A flicker of recognition crossed Hadley’s mind. She had started dancing during her youth, and in the same art academy, the adjacent room had been dedicated to painting sses. Addy Hond’s name had been whispered among students with a kind of reverence. She never imagined Elissa was his granddaughter.

“You have nothing to worry about,” Ernest assured her. “With Addy’s influence, Elissa will be well cared for.”

Hadley exhaled. “That’s good to hear. Thank you, Ernest.”

Once she hung up, relief settled over her, though it was tinged with mncholy. Elissa hade from a family with such a deep cultural legacy, while the Torres family had built their empire in the world ofmerce. They were well-matched in every sense. If not for what had happened on the wedding night, Elissa’s life would have been so different.
