Chapter 662

    ?Chapter 662:

Ernest moved toward the hospital ward.

Should he confide in Eric? As Quentin suggested, involving Eric could be advantageous. Yet he was hesitant. Maybe waiting was the better choice.

Once Eric was gone, Hadley’s interest in the movie fadedpletely. Given the opportunity, wouldn’t it make more sense to return and spend the remaining time with Joy?

Hadley grabbed her bag and exited the cinema.

It was rush hour, with crowds filling entertainment spots after work.

Out of nowhere, a sudden jostle nearly sent Hadley stumbling.

“Are you alright?” asked a nearby stranger who helped stabilize her.

“Thank you, I’m okay,” Hadley responded, just as she sensed something amiss. She reached for her wrist, realizing her watch was missing.

She spun around, scanning the crowd urgently.

The culprit was the same individual who had bumped into her. “Criminal!”

She recalled the appearance of the thief, notably his ck baseball cap.

    “That man stole my watch!”

The thief nced back, his nerves apparent.

    “Stop right there! It’s you!”

Charging through the crowd, Hadley pursued the man in the ck cap.

    “Stop running! Ah…”

    “Stop!”

Out of nowhere, another figure dashed past her.

    Tall and familiar—it was Denver.

Hadley was caught off guard, hardly expecting to encounter him under these circumstances. As she watched Denver chase after the thief, concerns about his previously injured leg crossed her mind.

Had his injury healed enough for him to sprint like this?

Denver quickly closed the distance and delivered a swift kick to the thief’s knee, sending him to the ground.

    “Give me the watch now!”

    “Humph.”

The thief scoffed, his hand diving into his pocket and emerging with a knife, which he swung at Denver.

After a brief struggle, the thief shoved Denver to the ground and fled.

“Denver!” Hadley called out as she reached him.

The sight of him on the ground turned her face white, her legs giving way as she knelt beside him. “Denver, are you hurt anywhere?”

    “It’s nothing serious…”

Trying to reassure her, Denver managed a weak smile while clutching his arm, which was starting to bleed. “Really, it’s just a scratch on my arm.”

But Hadley could see blood seeping between his fingers.

“This looks bad. We need to get you to a hospital right away!” She assisted him to his feet, ready to support him to the nearest medical facility.

“Okay…” Denver acknowledged with regret. “I’m sorry I couldn’t retrieve your watch.”

“Who’s worried about the watch now?”
