Chapter 620

    ?Chapter 620:

“You always jump to conclusions without ever talking to me first. We’re nearly at the hospital—just hold on a bit longer.”

Hadley remained quiet, sinking further into his embrace. Right now, nothing about Eric made sense.

If he never truly cared for her, why wasn’t he bothered that she—someone he supposedly didn’t love—was carrying his child?

As the hospital loomed into view, the pain intensified, twisting relentlessly.

Her eyes suddenly snapped open, her hand desperately clutching his.

    “Eric!”

His response was immediate, fierce, and reassuring. “I’m right here—I’m not going anywhere!” Eric’s pulse spiked with panic. “Hadley, what’s happening?”

“I— I…” Tears surged uncontrobly into her eyes, her voice fragile and terrified. “I’m bleeding.”

    Bleeding?

The word echoed chillingly in Eric’s mind.

He knew exactly what this meant for a pregnant woman. Instantly…

Memories of Linda’s miscarriage four years ago surged vividly. His grip tightened fiercely around Hadley’s trembling hand, pressing it urgently to his lips.

“You’ll be alright,” he whispered desperately, his voice shaking despite his attempts to sound reassuring. “You have to be alright.” But dread clung heavily to each word.

Eric knew far too well what might lie ahead.

Pulling Hadley even closer, he shouted frantically at the driver, “Drive faster! Damn it, push the elerator!”

    F???????? ???????????????? ???? g??????ov?????.??????

“Mr. Flynn,” the driver replied tensely, desperation evident in his voice. “We’re already going as fast as we possibly can!”

Eric fell silent, the crushing helplessness hitting him harder than he’d ever known. For the first time in his life, Eric faced a crisis without answers.

Hadley gripped his hand desperately, tears slipping silently down her pale cheeks. Eric gently lowered his head, brushing his lips tenderly over her tear-soaked eyes.

“Don’t cry,” he murmured softly. “It’s too early to lose hope.”

He hesitated, his throat tightening painfully. “Even if—”

The words caught, strangling his voice before he could finish. He couldn’t bring himself to voice such a devastating thought, offering instead a shaky, fragilefort. “We’re still young. We’ll have another chance…”

“No! No, Eric!” Hadley shook her head fiercely, eyes red and flooded with tears. “I don’t want another—I only want this one!”

“Alright, alright!” Eric quickly agreed, his voice breaking slightly as he stroked her hair gently. “Just this one, then. We’ll keep this one safe, I promise!”

Hadley stared up at him, unable to speak.

What did Eric know about her pain?

His reassurances meant nothing—just like he understood nothing! If she lost this child, she wouldn’t merely lose her baby, but also Joy’s only hope!

The car screeched to a halt.

The subordinate quickly exited, opening Eric’s door with urgency. “Mr. Flynn, we’ve arrived!”

    “Hold on, Hadley—you’re safe now!”

Eric swiftly lifted Hadley from the car, his grip gentle yet firm. Phillips and a team of medical staff were already rushing forward, guiding a gurney toward them.
