Chapter 575

    ?Chapter 575:

“Hadley and her friend Elissa,” the assistant said sharply.

For a moment, Eric was stunned, disbelieving what he had just heard. A wry smile briefly crossed his face. “Repeat that, please.”

“It’s Hadley and Elissa!” the assistant repeated, her voice carrying a tone of outrage. “Mr. Flynn, their behavior waspletely uneptable! It was two against one! And now, we’re not even sure about the extent of the damage to Linda’s leg…”

Eric remained silent, absorbing the information without interjecting. After ending the call, he turned to Phillips. “I need you to handle something for me.”

    “Of course, Mr. Flynn.”

At the police station, Hadley sat in one interrogation room while Elissa was in another. They started with Elissa, leaving Hadley to wait her turn.

By the time she was headed to the station, Hadley had gathered herposure and was clear on her next steps.

The door swung open, and a police officer stepped in.

Hadley sat up straight, bracing herself for what wasing. “Officer…”

    “Hadley Pearson.”

To her astonishment, the officer went straight to her and unlocked her handcuffs. “You’re free to go.”

Confused, Hadley responded, “But I haven’t even been questioned yet.”

“You’re cleared to go. Your involvement isn’t confirmed,” the officer exined.

Hadley couldn’t help but wonder if Elissa had shouldered the entire me. She couldn’t ept that without her ount being considered.

Exiting the interrogation room, Hadley inquired of the officer, “May I see my friend now?”

“She’s still under questioning,” the officer replied honestly.

    “Thanks,” Hadley acknowledged his response.

Once outside the police station, Hadley quickly put her n into action.

Knowing time was crucial, she hailed a taxi and made her way directly to the hospital.

During the ride, she dialed Linda’s number. “It’s me, Hadley. We need to talk…”

This call ensured her ess to Linda’s hospital room, which would have otherwise been difficult due to Linda’s prominent status. A nurse guided Hadley to Linda’s room upon her arrival at the hospital. “This way, please.”

    “Thank you,” Hadley responded graciously.

She took a deep breath and opened the door.

Inside, she observed Eric sitting next to the bed, soothingly asking Linda, “How are you feeling now? Is the pain still too much?”

“Much better, thank you,” Linda said, resting back against the headboard. Herplexion was still a bit washed out, but her smile was reassuring.

“That’s great to hear. Ernest will be here shortly. Drink some water in the meantime,” Eric suggested warmly, picking up a ss with a straw from the bedside table and assisting her to sip without needing to use her hands.

There was a gentle double knock at the door.

“Excuse the intrusion,” Hadley’s voice came through as she tapped lightly.

Eric, without turning, remained beside the bed in silence.

“Is that Hadley?” Linda’s expression brightened a touch as she saw who it was, signaling her closer. “Come in, please.”
