?Chapter 456:
With a theatrical tap to his head, Eric feigned a sudden epiphany. “Ah, you must be looking for Hadley, aren’t you? What brings you to her doorstep?”
Wilma couldn’t put her finger on it, but something felt off.
The way Eric was acting made her uneasy yet thrilled—something was definitely going on between him and Hadley!
She fixed a stern look on her son. “Denver, don’t you see what’s going on here?”
Denver could clearly see what was happening. Hisplexion had turned ghostly, and his hands were tightly clenched as he stared back at Eric with resolve.
“I need to talk to Hadley now!”
“Do you?” Eric stood firmly in the doorway, effectively blocking their way. “Perhaps this isn’t the best time. Why don’t we try another day? She’s currently unavable…”
Denver’splexion grew paler upon hearing the evasion.
“Unavable, you say?”
Determined to see the situation for herself, Wilma decided she wouldn’t leave without answers. She was resolute that today would be the day her son saw everything for what it truly was.
Asserting her authority, she pushed the door open with force. “Denver! Go inside, see for yourself!”
“Mrs. Moran! Please reconsider what you’re doing!” To Eric’s faux dismay, Wilma sessfully shoved the door wide open.
It was part of Eric’s calcted n, after all. Without their entry, his scheme to entangle Denver and Hadley wouldn’t unfold.

“Denver, stop! I told you, it’s not a good time—” His protest went unheard.
Denver had already charged past him,ing to an abrupt stop by the bedside, his eyes fixating on the disheveled figure before him.
Hadley was frozen in ce, her posture unchanged.
Her blouse appeared forcefully torn, her hair wildly disarrayed, and the bedding around her was inplete disarray…
“Denver…”
How could Hadley begin to make Denver understand?
Her eyes brimmed with tears the moment she tried to speak.
Denver was equally distraught, unable to grasp the scene before him. He steadied himself, his gaze fixed intensely on Hadley, pleading, “Hadley, what is this? Exin to me, please?”
“What’s there to exin?” Eric intervened before Hadley could respond, his appearance unkempt but his demeanor chillingly calm, his smile mocking.
“Denver, you’re not a child. Surely, you can guess what was happening here?”
“Eric! That’s unimaginable!”
Denver’splexion was ghostly, his expression twisted in distress, his rage simmering as he stared at Hadley, obscured by Eric’s form.
“Exin this to me now! What exactly was happening here between you two?”
“Alright,” Eric’s eyebrow arched quizzically. “You want the truth? I’ll give it to you…”
“Wait!” Denver interjected sharply, turning his attention to Hadley. “No, I need to hear this from her directly. Hadley, please!”
