?Chapter 365:
Once she had packed up her things, Hadley was exiting the film set when her phone rang.
“Hello, Hadley?”
Background noise filled the other end.
Denver’s voice grew louder. “I know you are shooting tonight. Are you done? I’m nearby and can swing by to pick you up.”
Certainly, Denver hadn’t just happened to be in the area.
Yet, because Hadley hadn’t yet reciprocated his feelings, he was careful not to seem too eager.
“You’re nearby?” Pausing, Hadley scanned her surroundings. “I’m right at the entrance. Can’t spot you, though. Where exactly are you?”
“I’ve got my eyes on you. Just hold your position.”
“Understood.”
Shortly after, Denver’s vehicle came to a halt in front of her.
He exited the car and approached her with a brisk stride.
“Denver!”
This evening, Hadley’s spirits were particrly high. Not only had her professional circumstances improved, but Joy’s surgery was also firmly on the calendar!
Years of uncertainty were giving way to a promising phase in her life. Her face was radiant with happiness, and Denver couldn’t resist smiling as well.
“You seem really joyful tonight, aren’t you?”

“Indeed, I am!” Catching his eye, Hadley expressed her gratitude. “Denver, really, thank you.”
“Huh?” He looked puzzled. “For what? What did I do?”
“Have you forgotten already?” With a yful pout and a twinkle in her eye, Hadley said, “You got Barrie’s mom to talk to Ms. Nicolson for me.”
“Oh, right.” Denver’s response was slow, as if putting the pieces together. “But that was—”
“It worked!” Bursting intoughter, Hadley eximed, “Ms. Nicolson visited me tonight! She told me toe back to the dance troupe tomorrow!”
“Is that so?” Denver reacted with a mix of surprise and joy. “That’s incredible, definitely a reason to celebrate. But…”
He paused, uncertain. “Barrie mentioned that his mom didn’t manage to sway Ms. Nicolson…”
“Really?” Taken by surprise, Hadley questioned, “So, Mrs. Hanson wasn’t the one who intervened?” Puzzled, she added, “Then who was it that convinced Ms. Nicolson? What a mystery!”
Denver shrugged off any notion of his involvement. “Well, it wasn’t me. Maybe Mrs. Hanson tried again and it worked? I need to thank Barrie next time I see him.”
“Absolutely!” Grinning, Hadley affirmed. “I owe thanks to him, to Mrs. Hanson, and to you. I couldn’t even have reached out to Barrie on my own.”
With sincerity, she expressed her gratitude. “Thank you, Denver.” Overflowing with joy, she suggested, “Are you feeling hungry? Let’s grab a bite together! My treat!”
