?Chapter 329:
This directive allowed Eric to alleviate some of the frustration that had been building since the previous evening.
In Eric’s view, the Clifford family had earned this oue by raising a daughter who had shown disrespect towards Hadley. A mere apology from Danica to Hadley didn’t suffice for Eric; he sought to inflict a tangible consequence.
The Clifford family received the news of their severed business ties with bewilderment.
“What happened? Was it Mr. Flynn’s direct decision? Did we do something to offend him?”
Their dealings with Eric had previously been smooth. The Cliffords were left in confusion.
Meanwhile, Danica was especially anxious. She knew she had recently upset Eric by stepping on Linda’s foot. Yet, Linda had downyed the incident, iming it was minor. Was Eric really leveraging this to justify his corrective stance against the entire Clifford family?
Danica was in a bind and knew better than to share the full extent with her family. If she did, she’d only end up in deeper trouble.
She needed to resolve the situation on her own.
Understanding that Eric’s anger stemmed from an incident involving Linda, Danica realized that Linda herself might be the key to smoothing things over.
Recently, Linda had been scaling down her professionalmitments. She only attended to essential duties, dedicating most of her time to Ernest’s care at the hospital.
Thus, Danica made her way to the hospital to find Linda.
“Are you here to see Ernest?”
Linda, seeing Danica, naturally assumed the visit was for Ernest and offered a friendly smile. “Ernest is currently resting. You can look in from the door if you’d like.”
“That’s not why I came…” Danica hesitated, searching for the right words. “I came to ask for your help. Could you possibly speak to Mr. Flynn on my behalf?”
Linda noticed that Danica looked like she was about to cry and was taken aback. “What’s going on? Calm down and talk to me.”

“Remember the other day when I identally stepped on your foot, Linda?” Danica began with uncertainty, then delved into the troubles her family was encountering in their business.
“Could you possibly speak with Mr. Flynn? He’s targeting our family to protect you,” Danica pleaded desperately.
Linda was surprised to hear that Eric was causing trouble for the Clifford family. Danica seemed to believe Linda was the cause, but Linda herself suspected there was more to the story.
Remaining calm, Linda responded, “I believe you might be misinterpreting the situation. Eric doesn’t let personal feelings influence his business decisions. It’s unlikely this involves you directly. Your father and brothers should look into the matter.”
“Are you sure?” Danica looked skeptical, her brow furrowed in doubt.
“Absolutely.” Linda reassured her. “I understand Eric quite well.”
Danica’s expression still showed concern. “So, you’re certain it’s not because of me?”
“Definitely not.” Linda offeredfort. “And it’s not solely on you to fix this. It’s beyond your control.”
“You’re right,” Danica replied softly, seeming to grasp the situation better.
