?Chapter 274:
What was he thinking? Would he ever stop?
“Eric, let me down!” She writhed against his grasp.
“That’s not going to happen.”
She was determined? So was he. If words failed, actions would have to suffice. Silently, he continued to carry her forward.
Hadley’s rage boiled over.
She ducked her head and sank her teeth into his neck with all her might.
“Ouch!” Eric winced in pain, his brows knitting together. Was she trying to bite his neck off?
This was the first time he truly saw the ferocity in her. She was like a wild, untamed creature—a feral little thing. With no other options, he rxed his hold and released her.
As soon as she was free, Hadley dashed away.
“Stay right there!”
He anticipated her escape and quickly grabbed her wrist, making her stumble.
“Try to escape, and you’ll lose any chance at that collector’s edition Minnie.”
And with that, he released her. He dismissively gestured for her to go.
“Go ahead—try running again.”
Hadley was reeling. What was he implying?
Eric allowed himself a slight grin but offered no further rification. Hadley had ceased her resistance just as he expected.
Heughed softly, feeling where she had bitten him; his touch revealed a smear of blood.
Did she really make him bleed?
“Are you some kind of mantis?”
What?

Confused, Hadley blinked. What was he trying to say?
With a teasing tone, Eric pointed at his neck.
“Look how hard you’ve just bitten me. Female mantises never bite until after their business, you know.”
Hadley was bewildered by the situation. What mantis? What was he trying to say?
“Just wait here,” Eric instructed without borating. “You’ll get that toy if you stay put and avoid trouble. No need to camp overnight.”
He then proceeded to make a call on his phone.
Within moments, the call was connected.
“It’s me,” Eric said into the phone.
On the other line was his assistant, Phillips.
“Who’s managing Evergrand Mall tonight? Get them to meet me at the side entrance,” he instructed casually, as if it were a trivial matter.
“And I’ll send you a picture of…”
Turning to Hadley, he asked,
“Got a photo of that Minnie toy?”
