Chapter 770

Gwh''s head was pounding from the bickering of the two jesters.

Back at the vi, she went to bed alone. Waking in the middle of the night, she went downstairs. The study was dark, and Hawthorne''s car was not in the driveway. This meant he had spent the entire night at Patti''s ce. Now that the pretense was shattered, he wasn''t even trying to hide it anymore.

Gwh nced at the study with profound disappointment and headed back upstairs, bumping into Butler Parham on the way. "Mrs. Everhart," he said, seeing her. "Do you need something? Shall I get it for you? Are you hungry? If so, I can have the kitchen prepare something."

Butler Parham had noticed that Gwh''s appetite had increased recently, so he was always attentive to her needs. The kitchen refrigerator was perpetually stocked to the brim, especially with Gwh''s favorite dishes.

She hadn''t realized it until he mentioned it, but now Gwh felt a sudden, gnawing hunger. After the chaotic search for Hawthorne with Leonie and Connor, she hadpletely forgotten to eat. She might be able to handle it, but the two little ones in her belly were not so forgiving.

“Butler Parham, I''ll go upstairs to rest. You can have someone bring it up in a little while." She steadied herself on the railing, feeling dizzy from hunger.

    "Of course, Mrs. Everhart."

Back in her room, Gwh waited for her food and idly scrolled through her phone. Two of the top three trending topics were about Hawthorne.

Her wedding celebration in Starfall City wasn''t exactly a secret, but she had asked Victoria to keep it out of the media, limiting it to their social circle Victoria, understanding Ker daughter, hadplied ando exined to the Langford patriarch that Gwh disliked extravagance and attention, which he also

understood. Though he had wanted. a grand, public wedding for her, he respected her wishes. Even so, the event was still magnificent enough to be the talk of Starfall City. However, few people in Greenvale knew about it.

Everyone was still specting about who Hawthorne''s future Mrs. Everhart would be. In thest few days, he had been frequently seen taking Patti Yale to and from the hospital in broad daylight. The paparazzi had been tailing them, and photos had already made it to the top of the trending lists that very day.

Gwh didn''t usually pay attention to such news, but today she identally clicked on a push notification. The photo showed the two of them with their heads close together, seemingly looking at a medical report with great intimacy.

The captions were even more sensational. Some imed Patti Yale was the future Mrs. Everhart, while others, more astutely, suggested she was the mistress so beloved by Hawthorne that he had moved her from a hidden love nest into the open.

She meant to scroll past, but she couldn''t resist opening thements section. The onlinemunity was in an uproar, with most of thementsing from Greenvaleizens discussing Hawthorne and Patti.

"They were childhood sweethearts. What''s wrong with them being together?"

"I heard they only broke up because one of them went abroad. It''s like a romance novel where the lovers are finally reunited."

Gwh saw one particrment: “This woman is notorious in our circle. I know five guys, and three of them have slept with her."

    Gwh had ignored all the

previousments, but this one caught her eye. Leonie had said her uncle would never be interested in Patti because her character was not worthy of any man''s serious affection. At first, Gwh thought Leonie was just defending Hawthorne But after seeing thisment, doubts began to form. Most importantly, thement was only visible for two seconds. When she looked again, it had vanished.
