The Silent 606

    606.Chapter 606

"What should we do with Malone City?" Eliza asked.

With most of the Malone family wiped out, what remained was a pile of corpses and the small city. Leaving it would only

    cause trouble.

"Simple. Burn it to the ground," Nn said without hesitation.

"Burn it all?" Eliza was surprised, then realized it was probably the best option. Leaving the city would only be a hidden threat.

Suddenly, she remembered something and said, "Wait, the Immortality Pills are still in the city."

There were mountains of them, already bottled and packed into boxes, clearly ready for delivery.

And it was likely that one of the destinations on that delivery list was Hasen City. "Burn those too," Nn said firmly. "Each one of those pills represents blood and lives. I won''t let them leave this ce."

But there were loose ends to tie up. The truth had toe to light.

"Jefferson and the other key figures of the Malone family are still alive. We''ll break their mouths open if we have to and get the answers we''re looking for." Nn''s icy gaze swept over Sariyah and the others before he ordered, "Take them all away."

Eliza asked, "How are things over in Centrina City?"

With the Malone family business wrapped up, Eliza turned her attention to Centrina City.

Her poisonous bugs had warned her earlier when they left the city that someone had headed there, one of them being a powerful sorcerer with a King Parasite.

If Tina hadn''t arrived, Eliza and Nn wouldn''t feel at ease about the situation in Centrina City at all.

When Eliza was pondering over it, Tina stepped forward from behind and held out a ck-cloth-covered object the size of a palm. "Take a look."

"What''s this...?" Eliza asked, her curiosity piqued, wondering if it could be what she thought it was.

She quickly lifted the cloth. Underneath was a small iron cage, and inside it was an enormous locust.

"Is this the King Parasite that the sorcerer was using?" Eliza asked, her voice a mix of surprise and excitement.

Tina nodded. “It looks like this King Parasite''s powers were suppressed, making it less powerful than thest one. It couldn''t control many parasites, so the poisonous bugs you left behind were more than enough to deal with the situation. After I subdued the sorcerer and their group, the King Parasite lost its power, and I captured it."

"Suppressed..." Eliza raised an eyebrow, realization dawning. "They probably brought this parasite from somewhere else, or maybe even stole it. Parasites aren''t suited to living in such cold environments. On top of that, it doesn''t have its own swarm tomand and can only control other groups, which significantly weakens its power."

But Vexara didn''t seem to care about what kind of swarm itmanded.'' Eliza suddenly thought of this after speaking.

Whether it was acting as the King Parasite when it was with Korneel or now with her, once Vexara tamed an insect swarm- killer bees included-they wouldpletely submit to it.

Not only was its control absolute, but there was no bacsh at all.

Thinking back, Eliza had always felt something odd about Vexara, but she hadn''t given it much thought after it emerged from its cocoon as a butterfly.

Only now did she realize that its previous form didn''t resemble any type of insect she knew or had even heard of.

Eliza asked, "So, what kind of insect were you?"

    "I don''t know," Vexara replied.

"You really don''t know?" Eliza pressed.

    Vexara repeated, "I don''t know."

Vexara''s response was simple and consistent. Eliza could tell it wasn''t lying and truly didn''t know the answer.

"That''s strange..." she muttered, her curiosity lingering on the mystery.

Deciding to set the matter aside for the moment, Eliza continued listening to Tina report on the situation in Centrina City.

By the time they finally left the underground city, it was alreadyte morning the next day.

"All the necessary destruction is done, and we''ve taken everything worth keeping. Thest thing left is this entrance."

    Nn said.

He led his men to the mountain peak, where they found the mechanism the Malone family had used to trigger an avnche

and seal the entrance. Once Eliza and the others backed away, a loud rumble echoed from the mountaintop as the avnche roared to life.

In moments, the entrance was buried under a cascade of snow.

"Let''s move. Time to head back," Nn said.

Naturally, "back" meant Centrina City. There was still a lot to deal with over there.

On the return journey, Eliza didn''t ride a horse. Instead, she rested in a carriage Nn had confiscated from the Malone family, swaying gently with the motion as she leaned back to rx.

"Serenity, you were up all night. Are you feeling sleepy?" Nn''s voice drifted in from outside the carriage.

For some reason, it sounded strangely gentle to Eliza. "Yeah, a little." She couldn''t help letting out a yawn.

She wasn''t just sleepy-she was utterly exhausted. She had set out from Hasen City to rescue Diana''s grandfather in Fort County, and just as she was about to return to Hasen, she detoured to Woteria. Her days had been a whirlwind of travel, prayers, disaster relief, and now, the annihtion of a family.

She hadn''t had a good night''s sleep in days. So when Nn said that, the wave of exhaustion washed over her all at once. “Get some proper rest. We''re not in a rush now," Nn said.

Eliza was already half-dazed. She nodded subconsciously, then slowlyy down and fell asleep almost instantly.

Outside the carriage, Nn keenly noticed her breathing bing long and even.

The entire convoy moved forward through the snow silently in an orderly formation.

If anyone had been there to witness them, they wouldn''t have dared to underestimate this group.

They moved like a pack of silent predators-calm when unprovoked, but the moment danger struck, they showed the kind of ruthless precision that onlyes from surviving countless battles.

Anyone foolish enough to underestimate them would pay a heavy price in blood.

Inside the iron cage, the captured members of the Malone family finally saw the truth and realized how foolish they had been to think their troops were invincible. The memory of that arrogance made the silence around them feel all the more suffocating.

By the time Eliza woke up, an entire day had passed.

As she groggily opened her eyes, she realized she was already lying in a tent outside Centrina City.
