The Silent 514

    Gabriel shouted, "They''ve all vanished?"

From the moment Sophie fled the Duke''s estate in the early hours, Gabriel had been anxiously awaiting news from the shadow guards.

But after waiting an entire day and night, the first report he received was that the thirty shadow guards he sent hadpletely disappeared.

Gabriel frowned immediately, asking. "Which direction did Sophie leave the city from?"

He had arranged for people to cover all four city gates, including preparing the carriage, so finding out which direction Sophie left was simple enough-he just needed to ask the gatekeepers.

Once the question was asked, Gabriel''s mind shed with something. He immediately pressed, "Was it the south gate, heading toward Mount Westin?"

Cyrus, the butler, nodded and confirmed, "Yes, Sophie left from the south gate. I even ordered a carriage to be prepared outside, but it disappeared too."

The most bizarre part was that while the shadow guards and the carriage had vanished, Sophie, of all people, had returne Though not to the Duke''s estate, she was back at the Marquis''s estate.

And ording to reports from the Marquis''s estate, Sophie had returned the day before.

Cyrus ryed all this information to Gabriel

Gabriel squinted, his eyes narrowing. "Did the people at the Marquis''s estate let you see Sophie?"

Cyrus hesitated, then shook his head. "No, they didn''t."

"So, the report that Sophie returned the day before'' is just their word, but we still don''t know if she''s truly at the Marquis''s

    estate."

At Gabriel''s words, Cyrus quickly understood. "Shall I go visit Sophie now?"

Gabriel raised his hand to stop him. "No need Dale must be hiding something from me. If he doesn''t want you to see Sophie, he can easily make sure you never do, whether Sophie is there or not."

What mattered now was that Gabriel suspected Dale had already sided with someone else.

"You go. Take my namete to the Henderson family. Find Fletcher and deliver this message to him word for word," Gabrie said coolly. "Tell him, the Queen''s position has been decided. The Baker family will soon enter Hasen City.""

"Understood," Cyrus replied, and quickly left with Gabriel''s namete to the Henderson family.

Not long after Cyrus met with Fletcher and left, the Henderson family closed their doors to guests.

"What? Diana is going to enter the pce as the Queen?"

After the Henderson family closed its doors, Fletcher had someone call Isabelle back.

As soon as Isabelle entered Fletcher''s study, she was told that the Empress Dowager and the King were nning to make

    Diana the Queen.

Isabelle shot up from her chair, eximing, "This is impossible! How could Diana ever agree to enter the pce?"

Diana had always lived freely, much more so than Isabelle or Liza. The Baker family had never nned on sending her to the pce, so they hadn''t taught her any pce etiquette. As a noblewoman, her manners and behavior were utterly unfit.

How could someone like her ever be chosen by the Empress Dowager and the King? Not only would she enter the pce, but they intended to make her the Queen?

Fletcher said, "This news came from the Duke''s estate. It''s hard to say whether it''s true, but I suspect there''s a seventy percent chance it''s real."

"The Duke''s estate sent this?" Isabelle raised an eyebrow. "Could it be that Sophie has set her sights on Diana, trying to harm her, and sent this message to my father?"

Fletcher shook his head. "It wasn''t Sophie. The messenger was the Duke''s estate''s butler, and he came with Gabriel''s namete.”

Sessfully unlocked! "Who doesn''t know Gabriel is indulgent with him for Sophie''s sake. After all, Sophie nearly poisoned her brother andmitted a great crime, but Gabriel still protected her."

"He even had his son break off the engagement with Diana to clean up Sophie''s mess."

Isabelle was delighted when Diana and Matthew''s engagement was called off.

    514.Chapter 514

This meant Diana could never be Liza''s sister-inw, strengthening Isabelle''s connection with Liza. That was why Isabelle was so pleased.

But now, her father was telling her that Diana was about to rise to greatness. How could Isabelle believe it?

"No matter how Gabriel is, since they''ve sent this message, there''s a possibility it''s true." Fletcher narrowed his eyes.

Isabelle turned to him and asked, "Father, what will you do?"

"Didn''t they say the Baker family is about to enter Hasen City? We should send someone to investigate," Fletcher said.

Isabelle raised an eyebrow. "What if it''s true?"

Fletcher sneered. "If it''s true, I will make sure they don''t stand in our way."

At these words, Isabelle finally realized something was wrong.

Isabelle asked, "What do you mean by that? Are you nning to send Diana into the pce, or me?"

Fletcher looked at her, his eyes lingering on her beautiful face. He smiled slightly. "Someone like Diana, with her mind and temperament, isn''t fit for the pce. This kind of glory and wealth is meant for you."

Isabelle nearly vomited from the "loving" look on his face.

But she yed along, forcing a smile. “Father, I''m just a bastard daughter. With such a lowly status, how could I enter the pce?"

Fletcher''s smile didn''t waver. "Haven''t I already changed your status? You''re no longer a bastard. You''re the legitimate daughter, the Raisa of the Henderson family. Of course, you can enter the pce. And not just that-you''ll be the Queen."

Isabelle nearly had a meltdown. She gritted her teeth and said, "Watch your words. You can''t just say such things casually."

However, Fletcher moved closer to Isabelle, patting her shoulder as if entrusting his daughter with an important mission. He smiled and said, "It''s fine. It''s just the two of us here. We can discuss anything. I believe in you. With your schemes and methods, and the support of the Henderson family, you will be the Queen."

He thought, ''What a dreamer. Sending her to the pce, and even making her the Queen? Does he think bing the Queen is that easy?''

The harem might be empty now, but there''s still the Empress Dowager.

Whoever can survive the deadly power struggles, dodge the traps and assassinations, and raise a young prince to the throne without the support of their maternal family, will be formidable.

Even with the Prince Regent''s helpter, such a person''s methods would be obvious.

If she entered the pce, her first opponent would be the Empress Dowager.

By then, she''d probably never even realize how she was outyed-let alone be the Queen.

Isabelle cursed Fletcher in her mind.

She nearly wanted to dig up the Henderson family''s ancestors and demand to know who gave Fletcher such audacity and
