The Silent 447

    447.Chapter 447

The moment Sophie finished speaking. Dn charged at her like a storm.

A sharp, resounding pnded squarely on Sophie''s face

The blow left Sophie dazed, her head spinning and her vision filled with stars.

She stumbled backward, crashing into the door with a heavy thud before copsing to the ground, pletely stunned

    A servant said, "Lady Sophier

    Another said, "Mr. Stonor, stop!"

Someone else said, "Quick, hold him back!"

The servants in Sophie''s courtyard were horrified by the scene unfolding before them.

Dn wasn''t done. His hand was already raised again, ready to deliver another strike.

The servants turned pale and rushed forward, throwing themselves between him and Sophie

Some grabbed his arms, others clung to his clothes, desperately trying to restrain him.

They knew that if Dn seriously hurt Sophie, it wouldn''t just be her who suffered. Every single one of them would face the consequences. Despite their fear of Dn''s fury, they had no choice but to intervene.

After a chaotic struggle, they managed to drag Dn three feet away from Sophie.

But even then, his furious gaze remained locked on her crumpled figure on the ground. Unable to reach her, Dy

    erupted in anger.

She said, "You conniving snake! You and Matthew teamed up to swindle me! I took you both in, and this is how you repay

"You had the nerve to steal my money and parade it around like it was yours! I must have been blind not to see through your act before!"

Dn was livid, his words cutting into Sophie without a shred of mercy.

His re was sharp enough to pierce. "Where''s my money? Hand it over right now! Or don''t me me for what happens

    next!"

Sophie finally snapped out of her daze, copsing onto the ground. Her trembling hand reached for her face, only to find the wound, previously bandaged, had split open again under Dn''s blows. Blood streamed down her cheek in vivid streaks. Her fingers came away smeared with blood, and the sight sent her into a panic. She said, "My face! My face!

"Someone, call a doctor! No, fetch the royal physician immediately

If her face was ruined again, she''d make Dn regret it for the rest of his life. But Sophie hadn''t anticipated that Dn would take things even further.

The moment he saw the servants trying to leave, Dn broke free from their grasp, spun around, and mmed the door shut with a resounding bang. Leaning his back against the courtyard door, Dn snarled at the servants, "If anyone dares take another step forward, I''ll kill her right here and now!"

The maids and attendants in Sophie''s courtyard froze, caught between fear and indecision.

Sophie screamed, "Dn, what on earth are you trying to do?"

"I want my money! Dn roared back, his voice booming louder than hers.

Sophie red at him, her eyes zing with fury. "I don''t have your money!"

Dn spat at her, his gaze dark and menacing. "Stop pretending! Sophie, listen carefully. If I don''t get my money today, no one leaves this courtyard alive! And your precious face? Forget about saving it!

"Fix it all you want, I''ll just destroy it again. You betrayed me, so don''t expect me to show you any mercy!"

"Dn, you''re insane! You''vepletely lost it Sessfully unlocked! / ignited by his threats. "All this madness over a bit of money? Is it really worth it?"

Dn sneered coldly. "Don''t you dare question my sanity. If I''ve gone mad, it''s because of you, a heartless, ungrateful

    wretch!

Their eyes locked, hatred crackling like a storm between them.

    447 Chapter 447

One was driven by the loss of his money, the other by the fear of losing her face.

No one would have thought that Sophie and Dn''s rtionship would fall apart like this.

The servants around them trembled, too scared to intervene.

Suddenly, a sharp knock echoed from the door Dn was leaning against. "Dn! What''s all this racket in your sister''s courtyard? Open the door now!"

Sophie''s eyes lit up with hope. "Father! Help me! Dn''s lost it. He''s trying to kill me!" she cried out

    Outside the door stood Gabriel.

Dn''s face darkened instantly. He braced himself against the door, refusing to speak or move.

The knocking turned into loud, forceful pounding.

"Dn, open this door immediately! Gabriel''s voice was heavy with authority.

Sophie seized the moment. "Father, Dn''s barricaded the door and threatened the servants not to open it! Please,e in and save me before he goes crazy again!"

"You!" Dn tumed to re at her, his fury barely contained. But before he could say anything, a sudden force mmed into the door behind him..

The door burst open with a deafening crash, sending Dn stumbling backward.

Gabriel stepped inside, his sharp gaze locking onto Dn, who scrambled to his feet, his stance defensive.

"Seize him!" Gabriel ordered, his tone cold andmanding.

Dn''s eyes narrowed, and in one swift motion, he drew a dagger from his waist. "Let''s see who dares!" he snarled. Gabriel''s gaze flicked to the de. He recognized it immediately. It was Matthew''s, taken by Dn during their fight in the thatched hut.

A coldugh escaped Gabriel as he nced toward the shadows. "What are you waiting for?"

Just as the servants hesitated, several dark figures suddenly darted out from the shadows, aiming to grab Dn. Before they could act, a voice rang out from outside the courtyard." Stop!

    It was Benedict.

Dn''s face lit up with relief as he saw Benedict slowly step into the courtyard.

Without hesitation, he rushed over to Benedict. "Benedict! Are you alright? I heard from Matthew that you recently and almost didn''t make it. What happened?"

    u were seriously ill

"Benedict! Are you alright? I heard from Matthew that you were seriously ill recently, almost didn''t make it. What happened?" Benedict coughed lightly, his voice weak as he grasped Dn''s outstretched hand. I''m fine. It was just a sudden illness. I''ve taken medicine and recovered now. Don''t worry."

Of course, Benedict didn''t tell him the full truth.

Knowing Dn''s fiery temper, he''d definitely cause a scene if he found out, Benedict thought.

Not wanting to dwell on the topic, Benedict shifted the conversation back to Dn. "What about you? Weren''t you

supposed to be back at Mount Westin? Why did you suddenly return today?"

Hearing Benedict''s question, Dn''s nose suddenly stung, and his voice carried

an unexpected hint of grievance. "Benedict, they came to my ce and stole my money."
