The Silent 425

    425.Chapter 425

At that moment, ten-year-old Dn was kneeling in the courtyard, punished by his father for getting into a fight with other kids at the acadenty

Six-year-old Eliza came running in and immediately saw him like this. She said, "Dn! Dn! Father said there will be lots of stars tonight. Let''s go outside and watch them together!

"Dn, what happened? Why are you on the ground? Get up! The ground''s cold! Steward said you''ll get sick if you stay here

    too long."

Eliza shuffled closer to her brother, clinging to his arm and trying to pull him up

"Leave me alone! I''m staying right here! Dn sakl

He thought, ''Fine, let Father punish me! But once this is over, I''d make those two loudmouths pay for their insults!

''How dare they call me a motherless child? I''d make sure they regretted it

Still fuming over his punishment, Dn lost his temper and pushed Eliza away without thinking.

Unfortunately, he used too much force, and Elza stumbled and fell.

Her little head hit the ground with a loud "thud," shocking everyone.

Both Dn and the maid who had been following Eliza turned pale, their faces drained of color.

Dn immediately forgot about his punishment and scrambled to Eliza''s side, his hands trembling as he helped her up Eliza, are you okay? Wake up! Does your head hurt? Are you dizzy?

"What are you standing there for? Go get a doctor for her, now!

Dn panicked the moment he saw his little sister close her eyes and immediately wanted to call for a doctor.

Before he could act, Eliza''s soft voice rang out, "Don''t call a doctor."

A small hand suddenly grabbed his arm. She peeked at him with one eye, sticking out her tongue yfully despite therge bump on her forehead. "I''m fine, Dn. My head doesn''t hurt, and I''m not dizzy. So, no need for a doctor."

"No way! Look at that bump on your head. You definitely hit it hard. How could it not hurt? We have to get a doctor to check it out!" Dn insisted.

But Eliza was just as stubborn. "No, Dn. If you call a doctor, I''ll cry so loud everyone will hear!"

Hearing that, Dn sighed, feeling his own head start to ache.

He could face anything, but his sister''s tears was his one true weakness.

Defeated, he asked, "Alright, but why don''t you want me to call a doctor? Don''t tell me it doesn''t hurt, I''m not that gullible." Eliza giggled mischievously. "Because I know why you''re on the ground. It''s because Father punished you, isn''t it?"

He huffed, "What does that have to do with not calling a doctor?"

Clinging to his arm, Eliza pouted and said, "Because if the doctores, Father will find out. Then he''ll scold you again, maybe even punish you more, I don''t want that, Dn. I don''t want you to get in trouble. So, can we not call the doctor, please?

"And besides, my head''s as tough as a rock! It doesn''t hurt at all. Trust me, Dn!"

Her face was so earnest that, if not for the ring bump on her forehead, Dn might have actually believed her ridiculous im.

He said, "You little fool. You''re talking nonsense and smiling like an idiot."

Listening to Eliza''s words of concern, the frustration and irritation that had been simmering in Dn''s heart melted awaypletely.

He wiped theers of his slightly reddened eyes and scooped her up from the ground.

He said, "Alright, didn''t you say you wanted to see the stars? Lead the way, little guide! You know I am hopeless with directions"
