L had no clue what was going on. Were the Moores here to push for marriage again? As she walked over to Nicole, her eyes swept around the room. Moses was sitting next to Dennis, but Andy was nowhere to be seen. Her gaze met Faith''s across the room. The girls exchanged a small nod but didn''t say a word.
Dennis barely spared L a nce before turning to Stefan. "Mr. Morgan Senior, since you''re here today, let''sy everything out. When our family initially partnered with Morgan Group, we did so under the premise of a marriage alliance. The kids didn''t want it, so we agreed to keep things strictly business.
"But now, Mr. Morgan has decided to get involved with ourpany. Do you think that''s appropriate? Don''t you think your family owes me an exnation?"
Dennis kept rambling, but Kieran didn''t even look at him. Instead, he gestured for L to sit beside him.
L had been busy in thest two weeks leading up to the end of filming. The only time they had managed to have a meal together had been a rushed affair. She had rushed back overnight to surprise him, but now, thanks to this group of people, that surprise had been ruined. Kieran was clearly not pleased.
As soon as she sat down next to him, the familiar scent of jasmine reached him, easing his irritation just a little. Still, when he spoke, his tone was cold and restrained. "It was just a regr investment in Moore Group. What''s there to exin? Moore Group has multiple shareholders-do they all need your permission before buying in?"
Dennis was fuming inside. How could he equate regr investors with Kieran, who had suddenly acquired 5% of their shares? That was apletely different matter.
On top of that, he chose this exact moment to invest in Moore Group. How could he not read into it?
Stefan stroked his beard and said, "Kieran hasn''t done anything wrong."
That only added fuel to Dennis'' anger. He clenched his fists as he couldn''t afford
tosh out at Stefan. "Aren''t you being a little biased here?"
He then shot D a sharp re. If it weren''t for her, his family and the Morgans would have been united by marriage, and he wouldn''t have to worry about Kieran trying to take over hispany. But now, with the marriage deal off and Andy incapacitated, he had been forced to bring in an illegitimate son.
The public was bound to have a field day gossiping about his family.
L had no idea why he was ring at her, but she wasn''t about to sit there and take it. stering a smile on her face, she said, "Mr. Moore, if you''re that unhappy about Kieran buying shares in Moore Group, you could always buy some in Morgan Group."
Dennis gritted his teeth. "As if acquiring Morgan Group shares was that easy."
Reading his mind, she continued, "If you''re interested, I can sell you 2% of my shares."
Dennis'' eyes flickered. 2% wasn''t much, but it was a foot in the door. If he could acquire moreter, even if he couldn''tpletely block Kieran''s influence, getting a piece of the action was still a win.
Nicole shot L a nervous look. "How could she casually offer up shares like that?" she fretted inwardly. But L wasn''t the reckless type, and since Kieran didn''t say anything, she held herself back and stayed silent.
L chuckled. "I''m not asking for much, Mr. Moore; you can have them for half the market price as long as you pay in full, upfront."
"Are you fucking kidding me?" Dennis hadn''t even finished running the numbers in his head when her words sent him into a rage. He mmed his fist on the table and shot to his feet, eyes burning with fury.
Morgan Group''s stock was worth billions. Even 1% would cost a fortune—nopany could just pul out that kind of cash overnight. This wench was clearly toying with him! How daring. Did she honestly think that he couldn''t do anything to her just because Kieran was here?
However, as soon as her words fell, Nicole and Faith both visibly rxed. Dennis red at her, then turned to Kieran, whose cold, unshakable expression was like a mountai covered in ice. Dennis clenched his jaw so tightly he nearly cracked a tooth, barely managing to contain his rage.
