L wanted to say she wasn''t as busy as Kieran.
But since they finally had time together, she didn''t want to bring up anything that would dampen the mood. Instead, she changed the subject. "Let''s eat."
Just as they were about to eat, a knock sounded.
Faith walked in but quickly stopped when she saw them about to eat. "I''lle backter."
She swiftly stepped out and closed the door behind her. L stared at the door.
Kieran noticed the shift in her mood. "What''s wrong?"
L retracted her gaze and asked, "How long will the coboration with the Moore familyst?"
"Around six months," Kieran answered.
"Will Ms. Moore be staying here the whole time?" L feigned indifference.
"Not necessarily. Her rtionship with the Moore family seems strained. She needs to return if she wants to take over Moore Group." Kieran exined, "But she''ll be under their control if she goes back now."
"So she''s caught in a tough spot?" L mumbled.
Seeing the confusion on her face, Kieran pinched her cheek. "Since when did you start caring so much about her affairs?"
L wanted to say she was doing this to guard her rtionship. But if she did, she feared Kieran would think she didn''t trust him.
So after some hesitation, she rephrased her words. "Not really. I find the Moore family''s situation strange. But... didn''t Faith ask for your help?"
Kieran chuckled. "You''re smart, L. I bought 5% of Moore Group''s shares."
"That doesn''t seem like a lot." L thought about her 22% stake in Morgan Group. That was how she became the biggest shareholder.
"It''s enough. The Moore family isplicated. No one has a particrly high percentage of shares. If she truly wants control, she needs the board''s support," Kieran exined.
L nodded. She didn''t understand business matters, but if Kieran said it was enough, then there shouldn''t be a big problem.
After they finished their meal, L prepared to leave. She didn''t let Kieran see her off and pushed him back onto the couch to kiss him.
Kieran cocked a brow, a small smile ying on his lips.
He didn''t say a word, but L could see the glimmer in his eyes.
L was acting bold.
She blushed slightly. She never imagined herself being this forward and med Kieran for being too irresistible.
After pulling away from his embrace, she adjusted her clothes before exiting the office.
She hadn''t expected to run into Faith in the hallway. Faith had just ended a phone call, her face full of frustration.
When Faith saw L, she quickly adjusted herself and put on a smile. "Heading back so soon?"
L nodded. "The film crew is still busy."
There wasn''t much to talk about and the atmosphere felt awkward.
After a brief pause, Faith pressed her lips together. "Have you met Moses yet?"
L nodded, and Faith continued,
het
"Don''t believe a word he says. He and his mother are just one of th? many affairs my father has. But my father happens to favor them."
ri
"And due to the recent situation with Andy..." A trace of awkwardness
one
appeared on Faith''s face. "My father
is now considering Moses ashis
heir."
L''s eyes flickered. "So he thinks Andy is a lost cause and wants to rece him with a new sessor."
So he would rather have a bastard son as his heir than have a daughter take over thepany.
L hesitated for a moment before asking, "What about your mother? Would she agree to this?"
"Of course not." Faith sighed.
L nodded and observed Faith''s expression. After a brief hesitation, she asked, "Does your mother treat you..."
She didn''t finish her sentence.
Andy had always treated Faith
poorly. But that couldn''t be entirely because of Dennis His mother Beatrice, must have turned a blind eye too.
Now that Andy had been abandoned, Beatrice would likely shift all the me onto
Faith.
