L was surprised that Amelia had received the news so quickly.
"Guess how I found out." Amelia raised an eyebrow, looking smug as if she knew
that L wouldn''t be able to guess.
After thinking for a moment, L shook her head.
The Moore family wouldn''t have spread the news themselves this wasn''t exactly
a glorious moment for them. The hotel wouldn''t have leaked it either. And it
couldn''t be such a coincidence that the paparazzi had captured it, right?
Amelia chuckled, seemingly content with herself that L couldn''t figure it out. "I
actually came today with some good news for you-Andy wouldn''t be able to act
arrogant for much longer because his dad has brought back an illegitimate child
overnight."
L was genuinely surprised. "He''s bringing this disgraceful news into the open?"
Reputation was the most important thing to wealthy families. Affairs were one
thing, but an illegitimate child was a huge problem.
Though it wasn''t a secret that Dennis had an illegitimate son, everyone simply
pretended not to know since he had never publicly acknowledged it.
But now, he was making it official. Did he no longer care about the Moore family
and his wife''s dignity?
Seeing L''s expression, Amelia let out a chuckle. "Love is rare in arranged
marriages between wealthy families. But if they can keep up the facade for the
sake of the benefits, that''s all that matters.
"When Beatrice first married into the Moore family, her maiden family was still
influential, so Dennis still showed her some respect. He still had affairs, but at
least he didn''t have any illegitimate children.
"But after her family declined, news of his illegitimate children started surfacing.
Perhaps because he still had some shame or because Mr. Moore Senior
suppressed it, those children were never allowed into the Moore family.
"But now, Dennis suddenly brought one home. Given everything that has
happened, I figured they must''ve gone looking for you. Did they give you any
trouble?"
Although L didn''t look troubled, Amelia still wanted to make sure that she was
fine.
L shook her head. "When they came yesterday, Kieran happened to be there."
Hearing this didn''t put Amelia at ease. "Uncle Kieran can''t always be with you.
You should be careful. Dennis and Andy are both vengeful people, so they
probably won''t let this go. Try not to go out alone for the time being."

Early in the morning, Faith arrived at
work. As soon as she opened the
office door, she saw her mother
sitting inside.
Beatrice looked haggard. Her luxurious clothing, instead of exuding elegance,
only seemed to weigh her down.
"Come here," she ordered angrily.
Not only had Faith been avoiding
Dennis and Andy, she even ignored
her own mother''s calls and
messages. It seemed she had truly
grown her own wings!
And now, because of her, Dennis
came up with the idea of
abandoning Andy and bringing
home an illegitimate son instead. If
that happened, how would she and
Andy maintain their standing in the
Moore family?
Beatrice was furious for giving birth to such a useless daughter.
Faith hesitated for a moment before closing the door and walking over.
She stood while Beatrice remained seated.
"Come closer."
Ignoring Beatrice''s order, Faith didn''t move. She lowered her gaze, her expression
unreadable.
"Are you going to hit me too, Mom?"
Beatrice was stunned. Then, she suddenly got up and threw her purse at Faith''s
feet.
"Shouldn''t I?" she shouted so loudly that her voice cracked slightly.
Faith stared at her quietly. Then, suddenly, sheughed. But as sheughed, her
eyes turned red.
"Why? Because of your pathetic marriage? Or because of your disappointing
son?" she asked calmly.
Beatrice red at her, clenching her fists while trying to suppress her anger.
Faith chuckled again. This time, a tear rolled down her cheek. "Mom, what exactly
did I do wrong in all of this?"
Beatrice''s body trembled slightly as she red at her. "You think you did nothing
wrong?"
