That night, Kieran stayed over at L''s ce.
When she came out of the shower, she saw Kieran on a call. She was about to
climb into bed when he suddenly got up and effortlessly scooped her into his arms
with one hand.
L instinctively wrapped one arm around his neck while covering her mouth with
the other, preventing herself from gasping out loud.
"Finish your call first," she whispered.
Kieran ced her gently on the bed, lowering his head to kiss the corner of her
lips.
Because of their close proximity, L could hear Cole''s voice from the phone.
"The Moore family is still searching for Ms. Moore''s whereabouts. I''ve already
arranged for our people to ensure absolute confidentiality.
"Oh, and Mr. Morgan, our people just reported that Dennis left with Harrison and
Andy, but we don''t know where they went."
Kieran casually adjusted L''s slightly messy hair while saying, "Keep monitoring
them."
After he hung up, L looked at him curiously. "The Moore family sent more
people?"
Andy had been missing for a few days, but Harrison had been around, seemingly
keeping tabs on Faith.
She had once thought that, as the heiress of the Moore family, Faith lived a
morous life. But thinking about it now, she probably had a harder time than
most ordinary people.
"The Moore family won''t give up on Andy so easily. But at the same time, they
can''t ignore the benefits Faith has brought them over the years. If they suddenly
remove her and rece her with Andy, thepany''s shareholders surely won''t
be happy."
Hearing his exnation, L understood. "There must be plenty of ways to help
Andy build a reputation. Why do they insist on taking over the Morgan Group
partnership from Faith?"
She lifted her head to look at Kieran. Under the warm glow of the lights, his
features were gentle yet striking, as if he had stepped out of aic book.
Kieran pinched her cheek lightly, his voice carrying a smile. "Because, Mrs.
Morgan, you don''t have a clear understanding of your husband''s capabilities."
L''s attention was caught by the words "your husband". She parted her lips
slightly but, after a long pause, only managed to say, "Go take your shower."
Kieran chuckled, grabbed his clothes, and headed to the bathroom.
L understood his meaning. The
Moore family wanted to use Morgan
Group to propel Andy into power
while forcing Faith into an arranged
marriage to squeeze out everyst
bit of her value.
Kieran had just stepped out of the shower and hadn''t even had the chance to
cuddle his wife when a sudden knock on the door interrupted him.
"It''s sote. Who could it be?" L muttered. "Could it be something urgent from
Michael or Matthew? I''ll go check."
Kieran''s gaze darkened slightly. "It''s probably someone from the Moore family."
"The Moore family?"
"I''ll open the door."
As he walked out, L hesitated for a moment, then grabbed a jacket and followed
him.
As soon as she stepped out, she saw about ten people from the Moore family
standing outside, making her frown.
Were they here to stage a protest?
Beforeing up, they had already inquired at the hotel''s front desk and
confirmed that Kieran was staying here. So, they adjusted their approach.
Instead of threatening L, they decided to have Andy kneel and beg for
forgiveness.
The moment Andy saw L, he
lunged forward and hugged her leg.
"L, I was wrong. I was
disrespectful to you before, and I
sincerely apologize. Please forgive
me."
He kept his head lowered, crying pitifully, but his eyes were filled with hatred.
One day, he would make both L and Faith pay for this humiliation.
"Let go of me." L furrowed her brows, a trace of disgust shing in her eyes.
She was also grateful that she was wearing long pants.
"Let go!" Kieran scolded, his gaze frosty.
Andy''s back stiffened, but remembering Dennis'' warning on the way here, he had
no choice but to push forward.
"Kieran, L, I really know I was
wrong. Please don''t hold it against
me, and forgive my earlier
disrespect. I promise to be
respectful to L from now on and
treat her like my own family."
