    Not long after she arrived, Cedric called her over. Once again, she was being pulled in to act as Michael''s agent.


    L sighed, exasperated. "Mr. Jordan, have you really not considered hiring another assistant for Michael?" It wasn''t that she didn''t want to help, but Michael always seemed like the forgotten child, and it wasn''t ideal.


    "I have, but no one can handle him," Cedric admitted, equally frustrated.


    "Then, why does he actually listen to his manager?"


    "They''ve been together since he debuted. Michael... has a bit of aplex about her. Plus, the two of them-" He stopped mid-sentence. "Forget it. Let''s talk about that another time. For now, just cover for him. I''ll figure something outter."


    He changed the subject abruptly. "Oh, by the way, the Emmy Awards are being finalized. I heard from an insider that Jamie is set to win Best Supporting Actress."


    L was surprised but thought it made sense, given how good Jamie''s acting was. "Doesn''t that mean you should finally approve my request to give her a lead role?"


    Cedric chuckled. "You''re always quick on your feet, huh? Give me two days. I''l get back to you."


    "Come on, at least give me a hint," she pressed. "Last time, thepany didn''t even save us a spot in that martial arts drama. You owe me this one. And not just Jamie-Teddy and Matthew too."


    Cedric gave her a knowing look, sighing. "One thing at a time. I crunched the numbers your current project wraps in three months. If you''re willing to jump straight into another one with no break, I''ll lock in an adaptation for you before May, with Jamie as the lead and Michael as the male lead."


    L hadn''t expected him to agree so easily. "I don''t mind going straight into the next project," she said. Then, she pondered for a moment before asking, "But can we talk about the male lead?"


    Cedric frowned. "Michael has both skill and a huge fan base. Pairing him with Jamie is the best way to boost her profile. It makes perfect sense."


    "You''re not wrong, but I want to give Teddy a chance," she admitted.


    He hesitated for a moment before responding, "I''ll think about it and get back to you. For now, go handle today''s tasks."


    L nodded, but before leaving, she said, "Just so we''re clear, I''m not trying to take anything away from Michael. If you''ve already locked this in, I won''t push it. I''ll find another opportunity for Teddy."


    "I know you." Cedric chuckled indulgently. "Now get out of here and deal with today''s mess."


    As she waved him off and walked away, Cedric suddenly smacked his forehead, realizing he had forgotten to warn her about something. Themercial event that day had. representatives from Morgan Group''s headquarters. Given the recent coboration with Moore Group, some of their key figures were expected to attend as well.


    Realizing this, Cedric quickly sent messages to both L and Michael to give them a heads-up.
