"I just woke up." L, for once, let herself be held quietly.
Kieran''s heart quickened and he had an overwhelming urge to pull her closer until they were one.
After holding her in silence for a while, he finally asked, "Do you want to sleep a little longer?"
L shook her head. She had a busy day ahead. The casting process was still unfinished.
She spoke softly. "I''ll probably be workingte today. You don''t need to pick me up. Just go home early and get some rest. I''ll drive myself back."
Kieran hummed. Though reluctant, he still let go of her and slowly sat up.
He ruffled L''s hair affectionately.
Just a little longer. Once this busy period was over, they would have plenty of time together.
They washed up together and shared breakfast.
L insisted on driving herself.
She spent the entire morning working. Amelia, whom she hadn''t seen in a while, showed up.
Since it was mealtime, the two decided to eat at the restaurant in Magi Pictures.
After a few bites, Amelia said, "Yourpany''s cafeteria is pretty decent."
L quirked a brow. "You came all this way just to have lunch with me?" "Can''t I visit for fun?" Amelia pouted.
"It''s not that. But it feels weird not to have you gossiping when we meet up." L shrugged.
After all, whenever Amelia sought her out, even if it wasn''t for anything important, she always had some story to share. Sometimes it would be just some gossip.
Amelia tilted her head in thought. "I wanted to tell you that Uncle Kieran has been restructuring Morgan Group''s international markettely. Falkoria has been trying to obstruct him. Just yesterday, they seized some goods and assets, including a crucialponent.
"I was going to ask if there''s a solution yet, but then I realized you probably don''t know anything about it."
L''s grip on her spoon tightened.
She wasn''t aware of thisponent or that goods had been seized just yesterday. Was that why Kieran had left so abruptly the night beforest? So he hadn''t told her the truth yesterday because he didn''t want her to worry.
L nodded, keeping her expression as natural as possible. "Then, is there a way to resolve this?"
Amelia thought for a moment.
"Morgan Group''s domestic
operations aren''t too affected. If
there''s a localpany capable of
producing theseponents,
wouldn''t impact their product release. In that case, this might even be an opportunity for Morgan Group. But..."
She trailed off.
L caught on. There likely wasn''t a suitable manufacturer domestically, which was why Morgan Group had to rely on international partnerships.
So, Morgan Group was still trapped in a cycle of crisis.
L lowered her head, suddenly finding her food tasteless.
Amelia asked, "Didn''t Stefan just return to the family? Shouldn''t he be helping?"
L wasn''t sure how to respond. Should she tell Amelia that Stefan had offered help but on the condition that Kieran divorce her and marry Faith instead?
She knew Amelia would fly into a rage if she knew this. It would onlyplicate things if she ran off to curse out Stefan or Faith and dragged Joyce Group into this
mess.
So, L stayed silent.
Amelia frowned. "You''re telling me that he''s not willing to help even though he''s family? I''ve heard that the Morgan family has taken advantage of Kieran''s resources in the past."
She continued, "And the Moore family has always had close ties with the Morgan family. Didn''t they transfer some of their assets overseas? You know about that, right?"
L nodded. She had heard bits and pieces about the Moore family.
Amelia tapped her chin thoughtfully. "Isn''t Kieran''s biggest problem right now his overseaswork? If he wants to reestablish Morgan
wouldn''t things be much easier if the Moore family''s overseas
Group''s international supplycol
connections helped him?
L froze. The Moore family''s overseas resources?
So was Stefan''s proposal of an arranged marriage between the Morgans and the Moores meant to leverage the Moore family''s international influence to resolve Morgan Group''s crisis?
L hesitated before asking, "What are the chances of Morgan Group solving this problem?"
