Chapter 472

Later, L realized she had won the gamble.

Kieran''s unconscious gestures, the way he carefully held her in his arms, his warm body...

If they loved each other, why should they part?

Faith looked at her. "But have you thought about Morgan Group?"

L''s back stiffened slightly. The question struck directly at her heart.

She wanted to be selfish, but what about Morgan Group? The Morgan family and the employees of Morgan Group...

Faith met her gaze, noticing out of the corner of her eye L''s tightly clenched fist.

L spoke slowly. "So, are you here to tell me that you have won Kieran?"

Hearing this, Faith chuckled. "Not at all. In fact, the reason I came to find you today wasn''t to discuss this."

L frowned slightly, unsure of Faith''s intentions. With regards to her, L could sense the same subtle disdain she felt from Stefan.

L really couldn''t understand people like them. If they didn''t like her, why approach her? What was the point of making everyone ufortable?

"Ms. Moore, there shouldn''t be any ovep between us. Since that''s the case, there shouldn''t be much for us to talk about either."

Faith was surprised by her bluntness. After the initial shock, a peculiar emotion briefly flickered in her eyes but quickly disappeared.

Being a child raised by a strict family, Faith had long been taught to conceal her true feelings.

She smiled gracefully and said, "I''m curious about your work. Could you show me around?"

Seeing that L was about to refuse, she quickly added, "Didn''t Mrs. Morgan say I coulde to you?"

L''s words caught in her throat. Faith was using Nicole to pressure her.

"Fine. Let''s go." Without wasting another word, she turned and headed toward thepany.

In the elevator, Faith asked, "Is being a director interesting?"

L nced at her. "You probably wouldn''t be interested in a profession you look down on."

Faith was surprisingly magnanimous, nodding as she said, "It''s you I''m interested in."

    That was even more absurd.

L didn''t respond, but her cold indifference was written all over her face.

    Seeing her straightforward

demeanor, Faith raised an eyebrow slightly. "The more I interact with you, the more I find myself envious of you In the Moore family, aside from polite smiles, we''re not allowed to show any other emotions."

L listened and replied casually, "Doesn''tining about your family like this

to an outsider get you punished?"

Faith was momentarily taken aback. "It does." Then, with a chuckle, she asked, "So, are you going to report me?"

"I will. I''ve recorded it and will send it to your familyter," L said nonchntly, hoping to anger Faith and get her to stay away.

The elevator fell silent for a moment, and when the doors opened, L walked out first.

    Faith

they find out, I''ll probably be punished to kneel on the

pun half a step behind. "If three days, or maybe even vol

    for week."

"So? Are you trying to get my sympathy?"

"You don''t have to be so hostile toward me. In essence, you and I aren''t that different, are we?"

L smiled. "You''re wrong. We''re very different. At least in your mind, this is the case-you''re a noble daughter of an elite family, and I''m as insignificant as grass. You look down on me just like how you look down on my profession."

Such blunt words were something Faith had never heard before.

After a brief pause, she said, "But my envy of you is real."

"And what do you envy about me?" L asked.

"I envy that, as a woman, you were able to surpass the men of the Morgan family and attend the funeral. I envy you..."

    "Enough!"

L mmed the documents in her hand onto the desk. Her gaze was fierce, and her eyes were slightly reddened.

"If you''re so envious, let someone in your family die! I don''t need your envy. I just want my grandparents!"
