Chapter 404

Dominic''s eyes settled on Vespera. His gaze was calm and unreadable. No one could tell what he was thinking.

"I slept well," answered Vespera lightly. She took the chance to avert her gaze naturally by grabbing tissues from the coffee table.

She pulled a few out, then walked over and offered them to Dominic. She said, "You''re soaked. You should wipe away the water."

"Thank you," responded Dominic, taking the tissues and casually patting himself. Then, he walked over to the couch and sat down.

Vespera went into the kitchen and returned with a pot of Earl Grey tea. She said, "Mr. Reid, have some tea to warm yourself up."

Vespera poured a cup and set it beside Dominic attentively.

At this time, Dominic was holding a tablet, scrolling through something. He nced at the tea, then took a sip. He said, "Ms. Gildon, you don''t have to go out of your way. It''s just a little rain. I won''t catch a cold."

"Alright then," replied Vespera. She didn''t say anything else. Anyway, she had done what she had to do.

She poured a second cup for herself and another for Calvert. She drank the tea sip by sip, while he downed his tea in a single gulp. He opened his mouth to say something, but then stopped short, an idea lighting up his face.

Calvert said, "Vespera, you should tell Mr. Reid."

    Vespera asked, "Tell him what?"

"That Nancy showed up again! You chased her off, didn''t you?" Calvert asked. Vespera felt helpless. Putting her cup down, she looked toward Dominic and said, "Ms. Acosta has indeede by this morning. You were all asleep. I came downstairs to make something to eat, and she happened to show up at the door."

Dominic didn''t react right away. A whileter, he closed the tablet and looked at Vespera. He said calmly, "Gerard already told me."

    "That''s great, then," replied Vespera.

After hearing their conversation, Calvert was confused. Was that it? Weren''t they going to do something about Nancy?

Calvert quickly said, "Mr. Reid, Nancy can''t be trusted! You should chase her away! She''s going to pull the same stunt she did a few days ago and take over your ce again. She won''t stop bothering you, and it''s clearly making Vespera unhappy!"

In response, Dominic said, "Maybe you should tie her up and scare her a little. You can lock her in some farmhouse in the countryside for a year, and let her out when she has calmed down."

Calvert and Vespera were stunned. A year? That sounded kind of extreme.

Calvert thought about the feasibility and responded, "A year is too long. Maybe we just lock her up until we leave this ce? I can go and grab some rope now!"

He got up and dashed off, but then he froze.

Nancy was standing in the doorway, staring at Calvert. Calvert was shocked as he asked, "Why are you here? I was just about to go and find you. Saves me the trip."

Nancy questioned, "Are you plotting to kidnap me?"

When Nancy was on the way here, she was in a good mood. However, when she arrived, the door wasn''t closed. So, she walked in only to overhear their conversation.

Vespera scratched her head. What a coincidence...

Why did Nancy happen to arrive now? Locking her up for a year was too extreme.

It was against thew. Nevertheless, Calvert wouldn''t actually do such a thing.

"What are you doing here? You''re such a stalker!" Calvert shouted directly.

Nancy walked over and asked, "I''ve already left Halewick, haven''t I? Can''t I travel with a friend? Am I not allowed to revisit ces now?"

    "What ame excuse," scoffed Calvert.

    "It''s the truth!" Nancy shouted.

The two were bickering again. And honestly, if someone handed Calvert a rope right now, he would probably tie Nancy up himself and send her to a farmhouse.

    "That''s enough," said Dominic sharply.

It was only then that Calvert and Nancy stopped bickering.

Dominic turned to Nancy with a cold expression. He gave off a strong demeanor, which made her shudder. He asked, "Are you really this bored?" Nancy stammered, "I..."

Dominic cut her off and said, "If you''re so free, I''ve got something for you to do. Take care of it."

Nancy was taken aback. He wanted her to run errands for him? Was he trying to send her away on purpose? She questioned, "What is it? Feed sheep at that farmhouse?"

Dominic''s gaze deepened as he responded, "I''ll tell you when you''re in the car. So, are you going or not?"

Nancy clenched her fists and said, "Fine. But I want something in return. When I get back, you have to apany me for a day."

"It''s a deal," replied Dominic without hesitation. Then, he turned to Calvert and said, "Get a car and a driver. She''s leaving now."

Nancy was at a loss for words. On the other hand, Calvert was ted. He bolted to get things ready. As expected, Dominic was awesome.

Nancy wanted to go back on her word, but it was already toote. She looked around for someone to back her up, anxiously, and her eyesnded on Vespera. But thetter was lost in thought.

15 minutester, the car arrived. Nancy hopped in, half-expecting to be dumped at some farmhouse and have to n an escape. As long as she could return, Dominic had to carry out the deal.

However, as the car started moving, she got a message from Dominic. It was an address. It wasn''t a farmhouse, though. It was a castle.<fn7b96> This content belongs to f?ndnovel</fn7b96>

Back at the vi, Vespera was still deep in thought.

She had a feeling that wasn''t just a trick to get Nancy out of the house. There was some actual task behind it. Since Nancy was around, Dominic believed that she was a suitable candidate. He even agreed to her condition without hesitation. Vespera sighed and drained thest of her tea while Dominic got up and headed upstairs. She watched him leave. He seemed to have something on his mind. He looked upset.

In the evening, the maid made dinner.

Calvert, trying to be helpful, nudged Vespera to call Dominic down. He wanted to make up for earlier.

Vespera was about to do that anyway. After all, it was part of her job. She decided to call Gerard as well.

Upstairs, she knocked on the study door, but no one answered. Was Dominic asleep again? But just as she turned to leave, the master bedroom door opened, and he stepped out. He had changed into fresh clothes and looked like he was heading out.

"Mr. Reid, are you not eating with us tonight?" Vespera asked.

"A friend invited me to dinner. All of you should go ahead without me," answered Dominic.
