Chapter 336

Dominic turned to the fridge and took some ingredients from inside. As he turned around, he realized that she had tilted her head to look at him. But as soon as he turned, she looked away and walked out of the kitchen.

    Dominic frowned.

Vespera did not go to the courtyard since she wasn''t wearing anything underneath the oversized shirt. Although only two of them were in the vi, she still felt awkward about it.

Instead, she explored the stunning ss house and came across ace-covered lounge chair in the backyard. She also found a diamond earring on the floor next to a piano and a tube of lipstick among some magazines on a coffee table.

It wasn''t as if Vespera deliberately went looking around for those items. They just seemed to be lying around in someone else''s home. It was as if she had identally wandered into the house.

Should she ask Dominic who lived in the sshouse?

Vespera stood in front of the floor-to-ceiling window and nced at the clouds. They no longer seemed carefree but like cotton candy that was stuck in the sky.

After some thought, she decided not to confront him. If she asked, that would show how serious she was about their rtionship. They already had a lovely night yesterday, and that was enough.

Vespera returned to the dining room. By then, Dominic had already served breakfast on the table. There was sd, fried eggs, toasted bread with jam, and milk. There was also a small slice of cake.

"Not bad at all." Vespera sat down as sheplimented the breakfast. She picked up a fork and knife and took small bites of her food.

But Dominic did not take a single bite. He merely sat there and looked at Vespera.

At first, Vespera pretended not to have noticed anything. But as time went on, she could no longer keep up with the pretense.

She touched her face. "Why do you keep looking at me like that?"

"Ms. Gildon, I was wondering—you''re such a smart woman. Why aren''t you curious about where these foods came from?" Dominic stared at Vespera curiously.

Vespera slowly scooped up some cake before saying nonchntly, "There''s nothing to ask. Obviously, the food belongs to the owner of this house, and that''s you."

Dominic replied, "I know I haven''t been here for a while."

Vespera grinned. "Well, you''ve been here sincest night. You probably asked the maids to drop off the food this morning." She swirled the frosting of the cake.

    "Vespera!" Dominic''s expression darkened.

Vespera set her spoon down and sighed loudly. "Oh! You men are really hard to please! It doesn''t matter whether I ask or keep quiet, because you''ll be upset either way. What should I even do?"

Dominic bent his head and massaged his temples. Then, he spoke in a defeated tone. "My younger sister stayed herest month, so all these things are hers."

Vespera was startled. "Your younger sister?"

"Don''t believe me? Shall I call her and ask her toe over?" Dominic picked up his phone.

"No! No need!" Vespera quickly waved it off.

"Who did you think it was?" Dominic asked. His tone made it sound like he was

the one who found those items strewn around the house.

Without realizing it, Vespera also became distracted and answered nervously, "I thought you had

    another

    woman as a friend... That''s

normal too. At your age, it''s not...

strange to have a female friend."

Dominic''s expression had grown so cold that it was frightening. "A female friend? You think it''s normal to have one?"

Vespera was at a loss for words. Was Dominic hoping that she would interrogate him? Would a p make him happy? She had no idea why he was so angry.

"What I meant was, I won''t interfere with your life. But I''ve also thought about it-If you have other mistresses, we need to end things between us. I don''t like sharing my man, nor would I steal him from someone else."

Her exnation made Dominic''s vein on his temple throb like mad. He waved at her. "Come here."

Vespera got up. But instead of heading in his direction, she walked away. "I''ll ask someone to bring me my clothes. I want to go back."

Before she had even taken a few steps, she found herself being carried bridal- style toward the living room.

"What the hell are you doing? Put me down!" Vespera punched Dominic lightly. While they were messing around, a car slowly drove through the gates.
