Chapter 1706

James couldn''t help but notice Mirabe''s ster performance and sighed inwardly. His girlfriend never failed to amaze him-what was he going to do with her constantly raising the bar?

He walked over to the control panel and hit a button to adjust the moving target. Instantly, it began to zip side to side with surprising speed. Mirabe clicked her tongue in response, recognizing James was ready for a real challenge.

James picked up the gun, switching the sniper scope to no-scope mode with a smooth motion. With a casual smirk, he fired, and sure enough, the machine confirmed a bullseye.

Mirabe looked at the scoreboard and couldn''t resist giving James a thumbs-up, mouthing, "You''re the best, big guy!" She realized she''d missed a chance to unt her own talent for blind shots. What a missed opportunity!

James set down the gun and took off his earplugs, turning to Mirabe with a mysterious smile. "You''re pretty impressive yourself."

Mirabe shrugged as she removed her earplugs. "So, does this mean we''re tied?"

"Call it a win-win," James replied with a raised eyebrow.

Mirabe yawned, agreeing with his take. They decided to skip any more shooting challenges and quickly left the training room.

As they stepped out, they ran into Wyatt, who emerged from the next room looking a bit shell-shocked. Spotting Mirabe, his expression was a mix of surprise and confusion. Wasn''t she supposed to be a novice? How did she get the hang of shooting in just one go? And her speed in assembling and disassembling guns was on par with a pro.

Mirabe noticed Wyatt''s curious look. "What''s up? Having trouble teaching?"

Wyatt''s lips twitched. It seemed Ms. Mirabe had a bit of a blind spot regarding her brother''s capabilities. Clearing his throat, he said, "No, your brother picks things up incredibly fast. He nailed it in one try." He mused that in another field, this could be a case of the student surpassing the teacher.

Mirabe forced a satisfied smile. "d he didn''t make me look bad."

Wyatt thought to himself, "The world of these high-fliers is just beyond me."

Just then, the guy who had earlier escorted Mirabe and James to their private room approached them.

"James, someone''s trying to dig into Ms. Mirabe''s background," whispered, shooting a

He had just received the update and figured it was best to inform James.

    James narrowed his eyes.

Mirabe was equally surprised. She had scanned the attendees today and hadn''t spotted any familiar faces.

"Who''s asking about Ms. Mirabe?" Wyatt asked, puzzled.

"It''s Count Murray''s crew," the man replied with respect.

Upon hearing Murray''s name, Wyatt instantly understood their curiosity about Mirabe.

He turned to James. "I guess Murray caught a glimpse of Ms. Mirabe in the private room."

    Considering Murray''s status, he''d

been ced in an upstairs private et

room. It made sense he might have noticed Mirabe.

Trying to figure out who the woman with James was seemed logical.

Wyatt suddenly remembered something. "Oh, and I recall that Murray and the Davis family aren''t exactly on friendly terms. They had some business skirmish a few years back..."
