Chapter 1700

In the elevator, the coordinator noticed the young man''s fidgety behavior,

guessing he might be a bit on edge. He turned to Cassie with a reassuring smile, "We''ve got special suites for the event. Don''t worry, young master, you''re safe here. Nobody would dare cause trouble."

Despite their youthful looks, the two were with James, so the coordinator wasn''t about to take any chances or show anyck of respect.

Cassie rubbed her nose, feeling a bit defensive. "I''m not scared," she insisted.

The coordinator just chuckled softly in response.

    Cassie: "..."

    Just then, the elevator chimed.

The coordinator held the door, letting Mirabe and Cassie step out first. He trailed behind them, guiding them to a plush private suite where he served up some juice and snacks, then slipped outside to stand guard.

The suite itself was a perfect blend of understated elegance and luxury, boasting a floor-to-ceiling window with a sweeping view of the bustling convention hall below.

While the hall had plenty of seats for regr attendees, the special suites were reserved for those with noteworthy backgrounds.

Cassie took a quick peek over the balcony before heading back inside. "Man, it''s packed down there."

"Yeah, that''s pretty standard," Mirabe replied absentmindedly, still glued to her phone.

Cassie grabbed a pastry from the table, munching as he spoke, "Is my brother-in-w really going to let me pick out any weapon I fancy from the convention?"

If that were true, he''d definitely aim for the priciest one.

Mirabe just smirked, "Keep dreaming, kid."

Cassie: “.......” Ignoring him, Mirabe sent off a message she''d been typing.

She stayed on Messenger, tapping her fingers on the table in a steady rhythm. On the fifth tap, right on cue, her phone rang.

Mirabe raised an eyebrow and answered, "Nellie."

Cassie almost choked on his pastry at the name, "Cough, cough..."

Mirabe gave him a quick nce and nudged the juice his way. "... Yeah, he''s with me."

"That boy is always so reckless. Don''t spoil him too much," Nellie''s voice was firm on the other end.

"I hear you," Mirabe said with a knowing smile.

“Hmm.” Nellie paused for a moment before asking, “How long have the symptoms you mentioned been present?"

Mirabe had expected this question, her expression turning thoughtful. "Judging by the symptoms, it''s been at least five or six years... maybe longer?"

Nellie''s breath caught. Five or six years meant the optimal time for healing had passed, and things would only get worse. "Is there no way to treat it?"

Mirabe sighed, "Exactly. I wouldn''t have reached out if I had another option. But he''s my only Chester... and he''s so young."

Nellie didn''t doubt Mirabe for a second. Her own face was already pale, and now it seemed almost ghostly.

Rea, being the most gifted healer around, couldn''t help? The situation must be truly dire.

A metallic taste rose in Nellie''s throat as she fished out a handkerchief, pressing it against her mouth to keep any sound from escaping.
