When Mirabe woke up again, the afternoon sun was already streaming in, and the spot beside her was cool to the touch. Clearly, her bedmate had been up for a while.
Rubbing her aching head, she quickly sat up. She noticed a set of light-colored women''s clothes neatlyid out on the chair next to the bed, alongside a pair of slippers waiting for her.
Mirabe paused briefly, then tossed the covers aside, slipped on the slippers, and grabbed the clothes before heading to the bathroom. After freshening up, she felt a wave of relief wash over her. Herplexion looked healthier and more flushed post-bath, a stark contrast to the pallor she had before.
Dressed and ready, Mirabe stepped out of the bathroom only to find James by the floor-to-ceiling window, phone in hand, probably typing away. He exuded aid-back yet tranquil vibe that caught her attention.
With a slight raise of her eyebrow, she slowed down in drying her hair. Beautiful scenes like this always seem to capture the eye.
Noticing Mirabe''s gaze, James lifted his head, putting his phone aside as he walked over to her. "Are you feeling alright? Any difort?"
Mirabe nced at him, noting that this was his second inquiry, but she answered patiently, "No, I''m good."
Relieved, James scanned her now vibrant face and smiled, "d to hear that."
He led her to the vanity, casually picking up a hairdryer to dry her hair. Mirabe rested her chin on her hands, watching him work in the mirror, a wave of introspection hitting her. "If the Riverdale socialites could see this, don''t you think they''d be a bit..."
James gently ran his fingers through her soft curls, cutting her off. "They''d be envious of you, that''s for sure."
Mirabe arched an eyebrow.
"Besides," James added, "no one else is going to see this but me."
"You''re really full of yourself," Mirabe teased with a sidelong nce.
James chuckled, setting the

hairdryer aside once her hair was dry. He picked up a brush, leisurelybing through her hair. "Oh, by the way, David dropped by
Mirabe could guess why David was here and gently pulled away from James. “I should go say hi to David."
She hadn''t seen David in a while and was curious about how he was doing.
James set the brush down with a sigh. "He''s downstairs."
Mirabe nodded, and they headed downstairs together.
Downstairs, David was chatting with a rather glum-looking Cassie. As soon as he saw Mirabeing down the stairs, he stopped mid-sentence and stood up, "Mirabe, you''re up!"
Cassie''s face lit up, and he called out, "Sis!"
After greeting her, Cassie shot a re at James, clearly peeved that James had whisked his sister away while he was napping.
Mirabe approached, nced at Cassie, and then nodded politely at David, "Thanks foring all this way."
David waved it off with a smile, "I''m retired
hoy not much to do at ? Feeling better?" Cont
But how about you,
Mirabe helped David back into his seat before replying, "I''m fine, thank you for your concern."
"Good to hear," David sighed, adding, "We have your brother''s medical skills to thank; he knew exactly what to do."
