Chapter 1557

After they ordered their food, Mirabe poured herself a cup of coffee. Her porcin fingers wrapped around the cup gracefully, giving off a rxed and elegant vibe.

Dn, sitting across from her, watched Mirabe intently. Even though it was their first official meeting, it felt like they''d known each other forever there was no awkwardness at all.

With a grin, Dn finally broke the silence, "I always pictured you as a middle- aged guy in his forties."

Mirabe raised an eyebrow, her eyes twinkling with yful mischief, "Oh, really? Do you have something against women?"

"Not at all, just caught off guard," Dn replied, clearing his throat as memories of the first generation of smart chip humans from a decade ago flooded back, stirring mixed emotions.

His father was only around twenty now, meaning he was just ten back then. To have created suchplex programs at that age-his talent was just mind- blowing.

They were ying in entirely different leagues.

Pondering this, Dn asked, "With your amazingputing skills, why did you choose bioinformatics?"

Wasn''t that a waste of her talent?

Mirabe took a slow sip of her coffee, her confidence unshaken, "And how do you know I''m not even better at bioinformatics?"

Dn''s lips twitched; she definitely had the same way of speaking as his father. "By the way, where are you from?" Mirabe switched topics casually.

Dn recalled seeing Mirabe''s admission file at Prestige College and couldn''t hide his surprise, "Turns out we''re from the same city."

"Is that so?" Mirabe had only ever chatted with Dn online; neither had ever snooped into the other''s private life.

With the surname Montague being quite rare, Mirabe thought of Jenna and looked at Dn with a knowing smile, casually asking, "Does your family live at 116 Circle Avenue, by any chance?"

Dn''s handsome face showed surprise at the address, "How''d you know that?"

Mirabe smirked, "So, you really live there?"

    "Kind of," Dn nodded.

Seeing his reaction, Mirabe had her suspicions confirmed.

Jenna had mentioned introducing her cousin who worked inputing. It seemed like it was meant to be.

Dn—or J-stole a nce at Mirabe, wondering how his father knew so much. Was he interested in him? Had he looked him up on purpose?

With these thoughts swirling, Dn found himself sitting up straighter and adjusting his cor. If you

looked closely, his face was slightly

    flushed.

If his father wanted to change the nature of their rtionship, he might actually be okay with that.

    Mirabe didn''t notice Dn''s

change in demeanor, nor did sheet

    borate on her connection to

Jenna. Soon, the food was served, and they ate at a leisurely pace.

Afterward, Mirabe needed to head back to school.

Dn walked her to the campus entrance. As they parted, he cleared his throat and said, "I''ll coordinate with your professor about the coboration project. There won''t be any more hups."

Mirabe raised an eyebrow, seemingly unfazed, "Thanks."

Dn nced awkwardly at the school gate and added, "I''m heading back to headquarters tomorrow."

"Safe journey," Mirabe nodded, then added, "I''ll send something your wayter that you might find handy."

Dn''s cheeks twitched, "Still calling me father? Aren''t you..."

The rest of his words were too awkward to say out loud.
