Wyatt was waiting downstairs, his eyes quickly picking up on the bundle of papers James was carrying, a sure sign that Dane had once again demanded a lot from his student.
He coughed into his hand, not daring to ask anything, but hurried to open the rear car door for him.
Once both were seated, the car pulled away from the tech institute, and after a moment, Wyatt ventured to ask, "James, where to now?"
James, having tossed the blueprints onto the adjacent seat, was drumming his fingers on his knee and didn''t respond. Instead, he took out his phone.
He dialed Mirabe.
The phone rang a few times before it was finally picked up.
Before James could speak, the noisy background filled with loud rock music from Mirabe''s end came through, prompting him to ask, "Are you out?"
"Yeah, it''s a bit noisy here, maybe I''ll call you backter?" Mirabe said, twisting slightly to lower her voice.
"Okay." James agreed but couldn''t help asking before hanging up, "Are you alone?"
"No," Mirabe nced at the person beside her, "I''m with a senior from my department."
A senior, huh.
James''s gaze hardened slightly as he replied, "Alright, just make sure youe back soon."
Mirabe responded affirmatively and quickly ended the call.
James: "?"
Wyatt, driving, suddenly felt a chill in the car, especially down his spine, as if a familiar murderous aura was weaving through the air. He nced in the rearview mirror.
To anyone else, James looked as usual, but Wyatt, who knew him well, was certain this was far from normal.
However, he kept quiet, knowing all too well the severe consequences of stepping
on andmine. He never wanted to experience that again in his lifetime.

On the other end, after hanging up, Mirabe turned her attention back to the stage performance in front of her.
"Little sister, is something bothering you?" ze, sitting beside her, turned to ask, "If you have something to do, we can leave."
Mirabe shifted her gaze back to ze and smiled, shaking her head, "It''s nothing."
ze nodded but seeing Mirabe''sck of interest in the y, stood up, “This y isn''t worth our time. Let''s go, I''ll take you out for dinner."
Mirabe raised an eyebrow, "Sounds good."
They quickly left the opera house. Right next to it was a restaurant, just a few minutes'' drive away.
Before entering the restaurant, Mirabe nced at the sign.
What a coincidence.
"This restaurant''s menu is excellent, parable to a Michelin-starred chef''s." ze had already made a reservation and was leading the way as he spoke.
Mirabe nodded, appearing very demure.
They took their seats in a booth by the window on the ground floor and ordered their meal. Then ze looked up at Mirabe and said, "It''s strange, little sister, howe?''ve never seen you at the academy before?"
Given Mirabe''s stunning looks, in a department like physics where men were the majority, she should have been one of the most talked-about neersst year.
Mirabe, holding her coffee cup, pondered how she had received red
envelopes from ze during the bet
holidays and decided not to hide it,
replying, "My major isn''t in physics."
ze''s face showed surprise, "Not majoring in physics?"
Mirabe nodded, "I''m in the biology department."
Hearing biology made ze even more astonished.
"
He had inquired about her from Dr. Elliot before, but he had always refused to
discuss anything regarding the little sister.
So, this was the reason for his silence?
