Chapter 1496

Dropping a whopping fifty thousand just like that, I never pegged Wyatt and Curtis to be so loaded!

Mirabe''s fingertips hovered in mid-air as she sighed, "This gift is too generous, I can''t ept it."

They were approaching a crossroads, just in time for the red light.

James slowly pressed on the brakes, and once the car stopped, he turned to look back at Mirabe with a serious face, "Trust me, you''ll be happier if you ept it."

Mirabe''s expression wasplicated, "Have they really got money to this extent?"

Seeing her not responding, James simply took her phone, epted the gift for her, and then handed the phone back to her.

Mirabe looked down at the screen, which now showed a sessful transaction message. Her cheeks flushed with modesty as she said, "It feels strange epting such a big gift out of the blue."

James raised an eyebrow, restarted the car, and without mentioningst night''s incident or offering further exnation, he simply said, "They owe you that much." Mirabe blinked, her typical way of indicating there was more to her words.

Soon, they arrived at Prestige College.

Since it wasn''t the official start of the term yet, the campus was quiet, with hardly a student in sight.

Mirabe told James to head back first as she went directly to the administrative building, to Zane''s office.

Upon arrival, besides Zane, Wade was also present.

Wade looked much better than before, easing Mirabe''s worries. It seemed he had taken the medicine she had asked Devon to give him.

Zane had already taken a substantial envelope out of his briefcase and handed it to Mirabe, "This is the prize money for that science experiment project."

Mirabe epted the envelope with a beaming smile, "Thank you, sir. Please don''t hesitate to include me in such projects in the future."

Between the New Year''s gift from Curtis and Wyatt and now the project prize money, today was indeed a good day for earnings.

Zane''s lips twitched at her smile, then he said somewhat irritably, "And what about the unpaid ones?"

Mirabe''s smile rapidly faded, and she seriously corrected herself, "Forget those, I should focus on my studies for now."

After all, she was pursuing dual degrees!

Zane shook his head, knowing she would say something like that, "The prize might not be much, but it''s recorded in your file. This wilbbe beneficial for your future."

Mirabe waved her hand, tucking the envelope into her bag.

Records or not, it didn''t matter; she could always go back to inheriting a billion- dor family business.

"Right, the first thing I called you

here early for is to ask you to quickly draft a research paper on life

sciences, I need to submit it to

    SSCI..."

But Mirabe interrupted Zane before he could finish.

    "Sir, why

    thing? The seniors like Jessie

    can

hat we skip to the second

handle the paper. I have no experience; I''m not up for it."

Mirabe waved her hand, her face almost spelling out ''too much hassle.''

Zane choked a bit, then turned to look at Wade with a sense of frustration, "See what I mean, Wade? This kid is just hopeless."

    Mirabe: "..."

Wade chuckled, "Maybe Mirabe has her own considerations."

"She''s just beingzy," Zane saw through his student''s facade long ago.

Mirabe pressed her temples, somewhat helplessly, "Could you at least save me some face?"
