Chapter 691

After looking through them, Matthias curled his lips. "Having a meal together doesn''t prove anything. Maybe they just ran into each other by chance and ended up eating together."

He didn''t believe Queenie and Lincoln would relent so quickly.

If Wynn had apletely clean background, that would be one thing. But given the questionable way her mother had secured her position in the Lockets, he didn''t believe Queenie and Lincoln would overlook it so easily.

Celeste said, "When I had lunch with Beck earlier today, he mentioned it too. He said they''ve already agreed to the rtionship."

Matthias was momentarily at a loss for words.

To be honest, if he were in Queenie and Lincoln''s position, he would probably soften his stance as well, even if he didn''t like Wynn.

He snorted, then added, "Since the Fleming family has relented, your divorce should go through without any issues. What about your daughter? Have they told her yet?"

"Probably not. But that''s not something I need to worry about."

    "You''re right."

Not wanting to dwell on such frustrating matters, Matthias raised his ss and clinked it with hers again before changing the subject.

    ...

Over the next two days, Celeste went to work as usual.

On Friday afternoon, she received a call from Jordyn, saying that she woulde over to the Rodriguez residence that evening to apany her.

After Celeste agreed, Jordyn hesitated for a moment before adding, "But tomorrow morning, I''m going out with Dad and the others, so I''ll have to leave in the morning."

    Celeste wasn''t surprised.

"Okay, I got it," she said calmly.

Some newly generated data had issues, so Celeste had to work overtime. By the time she got home, it was already past eight in the evening.

Jordyn had genuinely wanted to spend time with Celeste. But seeing that her mother came home sote, she felt a little disappointed and went over to hug her.

"Mom, why are you back sote? I''ve been waiting for you for so long."

Celeste gently ruffled her hair. "Sorry, I have a lot of work to handle and got dyed."

"Okay..." Jordyn nestled in her arms and started talking about the interesting things that happened at school that day.

But before they could chat for long

    Matthias excitedly called Celeste

    Celeste was intrigued as well.

Coincidentally, Jordyn was about to take a shower. So, Celeste turned on herputer to discuss it with Matthias after Jordyn went into the bathroom.

Matthias asked, "Didn''t shee over to see you today?"

"She did. She''s in the shower now."

"So, you won''t have time over the weekend?"

"Not exactly. She''s leaving tomorrow morning."

    "To be with them?"

"Probably. She said they''re going out."

    Bal.ne

Matthias chuckled. "So, she talks about going out with them, but only spends one night with you? But then again, their situation is almost settled. They''re probably in a hurry now to have your daughter spend more time with Wynn so she can better ept your divorce."

    "Perhaps."

After herputer booted up, Celeste ended the topic and shifted the conversation to the data.

They became so absorbed in the discussion that she didn''t even notice Jordyn calling out to her after finishing her shower.

When Jordyn came out of the bathroom and saw Celeste talking on the phone while typing away on herputer, she knew her mother was busy discussing work.

After calling out once and getting no response, she had no choice but to call again.

"Mom. I''m done with my shower."

Only then did Celeste snap back and turn around. "Okay."
