The Scent of 361

Wynn had thought she would have to wait a few more days for news.

However, that afternoon, Trevor called her and said, “Mr. and Mrs. Yoder will be attending an auction tomorrow. Would you like to go?”

    Wynn smiled and replied, “Sure.”

The next evening, not long after arriving at the auction, Trevor took Wynn over to greet Sebastian and Melissa. He introduced Wynn to them.

Sebastian and Melissa knew about Trevor’s rtionship with Celeste and were aware of all the conflicts between Celeste and Wynn. However, when they saw Trevor, they didn’t let their feelings about Celeste show.

They smiled and shook hands with Trevor, greeting him warmly. When Trevor introduced Wynn, Melissa also smiled and politely shook Wynn’s hand, saying, “Hello.”

The auction was filled with the elites from high society.

After some casual conversation, Trevor and Sebastian, along with others, began discussing business matters.

At this moment, Wynn saw an opportunity and started chatting with Melissa alone.

After a while, Wynn got to the point and said, “Mrs. Yoder, came here today because I need a favor.”

Melissa smiled and replied, “Mr. Fleming is so young and aplished. Is there something he can’t resolve? Why would you need my help?

“Ms. Locket, you’re being too humble.”

Wynn said, “This matter concerns Mr. Matthias.”

Melissa paused for a moment. “It’s about Matthias?”

    Wynn replied, “Yes.”

Just as Melissa was about to speak, she nced at her phone in her bag and said, “I have a calling in, let me take it.”

    Wynn responded, “Alright.”

Melissa picked up her phone and walked a little further away to take the call.

After a while, she returned and apologized, “Sorry to keep you waiting, Ms. Locket.”

    “It’s alright.”

“Earlier, you mentioned that the matter you wanted to discuss with me was rted to Matthias. Could you tell me more about what happened?”

Wynn said, “Are you aware of the cooperation between InnovaTech and YodaVision?”

Melissa replied, “Matthias has mentioned it to me. So, does this mean there was an issue with your cooperation?”

Wynn responded, “Yes, we had a small conflict. To be honest, it was a mistake on our part, but it’s not to the point where we should terminate the contract.

“I’ve been actively trying to reach Mr. Matthias to resolve the issue, and I’m willing topensate him for any losses.

“But some people are using this small misunderstanding to push Mr. Matthias to terminate the contract with InnovaTech.

“Now, Mr. Matthias is not answering my calls and refuses to meet with me. He seems determined to break the contract.”

When Melissa heard this, her expression darkened, and she interrupted, asking, “The person you’re talking about is Celeste?”

Seeing Melissa’s change in expression, Wynn quickly replied, “Yes.”

Melissa asked, “Why would she do that?”

Wynn replied, “There are some personal grievances between her and me.”

She continued, “Terminating the contract is harmful to both sides. Even if we break the contract andpensate Mr. Matthias, it still wouldn’t benefit him.

“InnovaTech sincerely wants to continue working with YodaVision, but no matter how much I try to show goodwill, Mr. Matthias refuses to listen and only wants to terminate the contract.

That’s why I came to ask for your help, Mrs. Yoder, to try to convince him.”

Melissa lowered her eyes and said softly, “I understand.”

Wynn could tell Melissa was unhappy, so she politely said, “Thank you. I really appreciate your help.”

Melissa responded, “You’re too polite, Ms. Locket.”

They exchanged a few more words, and when Sebastian came over to find his wife, their conversation ended.
