Ruby anxiously said, “I heard that in the few days since Martha got injured, Trevor and Celeste–even the other members of the Rodriguez family–have been in frequent contact.
“Yesterday, someone even saw Trevor having a meal with the olddy from the Rodriguez family. Could they bel rekindling their past rtionship?”
“There was never a rtionship to rekindle,” Wynn replied calmly, though she disliked Ruby’s choice of words.
Seeing how worried Ruby was, Wynn patiently exined, “Madam Daniels has a close rtionship with the Rodriguez family. Trevor needs to keep Celeste and the olddy on good terms, so they’ll continue visiting Martha.
“That way, Martha won’t use her surgery as leverage to forge Trevor to break up with me.”
Ruby had never thought of this.
Ever since Martha’s fall, she had expelled both their families from the Fleming Group. For the past two days, both families had been worried that Martha would demand Trevor and Wynn break up as a condition for agreeing to the
surgery.
They had also been afraid that Trevor might give in.
Now that Trevor and Wynn were still together, they had assumed he had persuaded Martha. But unexpectedly, he had resolved the issue by working through the Rodriguez family instead.
Realizing this, Ruby finally felt at ease. She then asked, “So, that project–was it Trevor’s way of thanking the Rodriguez family?”
“Yes,” Wynn replied. “It’s both a thank–you gift and a way to draw a clear boundary.”
Hearing this, Ruby couldn’t help but admire him. “Trevor is truly thorough in everything he does. No wonder he manages all hispanies so well.”
With things progressing favorably, Ruby should have been happy. But…
Something suddenly came to her mind, and before she could stay happy for even a minute, she frowned. “Because of Celeste, the Rodriguez family has already secured a project from YodaVision.
“Their business has started showing signs of revival. If they also take on a project from Fleming Group, won’t theirpany trulye back to life?”
Hearing this, Wynn’s expression turned cold. She said, “They didn’t take the project.”
“They didn’t?”
Before Wynn could answer, Ruby figured it out on her own. So, they want Trevor to owe them a favor, giving Celeste an excuse to stay entangled with him? What a clever scheme!”
With Trevor and Celeste about to finalize their divorce, Ruby would not allow anyplications to arise.
She said, “We can’t fall into their trap-”
But Wynn remainedposed. “No need to worry. Trevor will handle it.”
Hearing this, Ruby recalled everything that had happened so far. Not once had Trevor let them down.
If he dared to offer the project, he had probably already anticipated that the Rodriguez family would try to take advantage of the situation.

Trevor was so shrewd he must have already nned a way to deal with it, right?
Thinking this, Ruby finally feltpletely reassured.
After a moment, as if something else hade to mind, she asked, “By the way, have you visited Madam Daniels. in the past couple of days?”
Wynn replied, “No.”
Ruby seemed a bit disappointed. Wynn exined, “Her recovery must be smooth, without any <bplications.”
Right now wasn’t the right time for her to appear.
Besides, although Trevor had managed to keep Celeste and the olddy from the Rodriguez family in check and sessfully convinced Martha to undergo surgery, her post–surgery recovery would take time.
For that, they would still need Celeste and her grandmother’s presence.
Wynn was not in a hurry.
