Sellers looked at Aurora''s stubborn expression and suddenly asked, "Do you still want to keep fighting this battle?"
She offered a half-smile. "Sellers, they did this to you. Are you just going to let it go? Are you just going to ept your fate after what happened?"
A strange smile touched his lips. "Even now, can''t you see that Ste''s power is growing while ours is shrinking? What can you possibly do against her and Joshua right now? Even if this baby is McCoy''s, do you think you can control him with a child? Aurora, I always thought you were smart and knew how to read the room. But looking at you now, you''re still too naive. Even when you had the power, you couldn''t do anything to them. Do you really think relying on someone else will give you the upper hand?"
"Whether I can win or not, I shouldn''t give up so easily," she retorted. "You were the head of the family once. You should understand certain truths better than I do."
Aurora gently ced a hand over her stomach. "I don''t know what Joshua and Ste said to make you so afraid of them. But no matter what happens, I won''t just get rid of this baby. It''s fine if you don''t want revenge. But as long as I''m still breathing, I will never back down."
With a long, hard look at him, she turned and left.
Stepping out of the hospital room, she ran into Sherman Burton, who had been eavesdropping by the door.
Sherman opened his mouth to speak, but Aurora simply gave him a curt nod and walked away without looking back.
He watched her leave, nced at the hospital room, and finally walked inside.
He looked inexplicably anxious. "Why... why would you tell her to get rid of the baby?"
Sellers remained expressionless. "Whether that child is McCoy''s or mine, Joshua will use it against us. He might even use it to spark a war between the Burton and Chapman families. That''s why the baby has to go, regardless of whose it is."
Sherman grew agitated. "Leonard changed sides, Aurora''s reputation is ruined, and her shares were taken back. All of this is because of Ste and Joshua. She''s been under so much pressure and fought so hard to protect this baby. How could you be so cruel?"
While Sellers knew Sherman had always liked Aurora, he never saw him as a rival. He knew full well th Aurora would never choose him.
Seeing Sherman lose hisposure now caught him slightly off guard.
"I''m the one getting rid of my own child, not yours. Why are you acting so unhinged?"
Sherman''s expression stiffened as he scrambled for an excuse.
"I... I just don''t want to see her get hurt..."
In truth, if he calcted the timing... the baby could very well be his.
That was why he was so desperate to save it.
Sellers had only asked offhandedly and didn''t pay much attention to his nephew''s reaction.
After all, Sherman had defended Aurora when her scandalous video was yed in public.
Sellers did hate Ste and Joshua to the core and wanted revenge.
But right now, he had to focus on
securing his position as the head of the family before he could worry about anything else.
