Chapter 1948

Somehow, the male lead''s parents had found out about her condition and came to have a harsh conversation with her.

Their message was brutally simple. "He already threw away his future abroad once for you. Now... it''s your turn to do something for him."

Everything she did after that was nothing more than a calcted act to force him into breaking up with her.

The scene jumped again, nding right back at the opening moment of the film.

The male lead stared in absolute disbelief at the woman before him. He never could have imagined that the brilliant, proud girl he once loved was now scrubbing floors in a corporate office.

Realizing she had been exposed, the female lead tore her wrist from his grip and sprinted away.

She quit her job that very day and vanished into thin air.

Her desperate behavior tipped the male lead off that something was terribly wrong. He tracked down her best friend, demanding to know how her life had derailed sopletely.

Tearfully, the friend confessed everything—her fatal diagnosis and the agonizing, selfless reason she had chosen to end things years ago.

Finally realizing how horribly he had misunderstood the love of his life, he mobilized every resource he had to find her.

After a frantic search, he finally tracked her down in a hospital.

Watching the screen, Ste fully expected a tearful reunion where they cleared up the misunderstanding and got back together. But instead, a beautiful young woman walked into the hospital room to visit the female lead.

On her ring finger rested a wedding band identical to the one the male lead was wearing.

It was painfully obvious—he was already married.

Seeing the woman enter, the male lead offered her a warm, gentle smile, his eyes filled with profound affection.

He calmly introduced the two women to each other, making no effort to hide the fact that the dying woman in the bed was his ex-girlfriend.

His wife smiled kindly, clearly fully aware of the female lead''s history.

The movie ended abruptly, freezing on a shot of the female lead as a heartbreaking realization dawned on her-she remembered that years ago ne used to look at her with that exact same look of unwavering love.

Ste wasn''t the only one stunned; the entire audience waspletely sideswiped by the ending.

After the credits rolled, a short post-credits scene yed out, showing how the male lead and his wife had met and fallen in love overseas.

His wife had been his rock, encouraging him to step out of the shadows of his broken past. No matter what happened, she had stood by his side.

Slowly, he had opened his closed-off heart, fully dedicating his life to her.

Since the majority of the film had been told from the female lead''s perspective, the audience had strongly identified with her, and many found the ending incredibly hard to swallow.

"What the hell was that? If he already had a wife, why even have him bump into his ex again? Just to punish her for breaking up with him? To make us feel bad for how pathetic her life turned out?"

"Seriously! If he was married, why was he acting like a maniac trying to find her? I totally thought he was still obsessed with her... Was he just keeping his options open or something?"

    "Ugh, you guyspletely missed

the point of the movie. He looked for her because he finally learned the truth Whether he wanted to apologize, thank her for her sacrifice, or just get closure, it was a perfectly normal reaction."

Another girl chimed in earnestly. "The movie is trying to tell us that no matter how noble her reasons were back then, once you miss your chance, it''s gone. There are no do-overs.

No matter how deeply he loved her, time faded those feelings. It''s a hyper-realistic story reminding us that life isn''t always a fairy tale."

"And at the very end, when she was thinking about the past, she clearly regretted her choice. But no matter how much she regretted it now, it was simply toote."

As they left the theater, Ste listened to the regretful murmurs of the crowd around her.

They were right. Regardless of how heartbreaking the reasons were, the moment you chose to let go, it was over.

Life wasn''t a fairy tale, and no one was going to wait in the exact same spot for you forever.
