Chapter 1946

Ste blinked in surprise and looked up at the man holding it.

Joshua stood in the doorway, offering the delicate flowers to her.

    "For you, Star."

Seeing the affectionate smile in Joshua''s eyes, Ste''s breath hitched. A sharp pang of sorrow pierced her heart, and her eyes burned with sudden emotion.

She didn''t take the bouquet; instead, she turned her head away, unable to meet his gaze.

Joshua wasn''t deterred. He gently took her hand and murmured, "Star, we haven''t been on a date in a long time. The weather is beautiful today. Let me take you out for a bit."

Ste honestly wasn''t in the mood for a date, but seeing Joshua bringing her flowers and carefully nning an outing, she knew he was desperately trying to make her happy.

She just didn''t have the heart to refuse him.

Finally, she epted the flowers and nodded. "Alright, let me change my clothes first."

Joshua''s smile deepened. "I''ll wait for you downstairs."

A short whileter, Ste came downstairs dressed for the day.

Joshua asked, "Is there anywhere specific you''d like to go, Star?"

    She shook her head.

Joshua looked at her tenderly. "We''ve never actually been to the movies together. Want to catch a film first?"

    "Okay," Ste agreed.

Joshua drove them to a luxury cinema downtown.

He hadn''t rented out the entire theater this time, and the moment they walked into

the lobby, they drew everyone''s attention.

"Wow, that guy is gorgeous! Is he a movie star?"

"Take a picture and post it! Maybe someone knows who he is."

"Ugh! The hot guy already has a girlfriend. Talk about a total letdown!"

"They look so perfect together! What a gorgeous couple."

Before heading into the screening, Joshua turned to Ste. "Wait here for a second.

I''m going to grab some drinks and popcorn."

    "Alright."

Joshua casually joined the line at the concession stand.

The women nearby kept gasping in

admiration, and even the girl working the register blushed crimson when he approached.

Countless envious nces were thrown in Ste''s direction.

Not only was the man stunning and clearly wealthy, but he also didn''t have an ounce of arrogance when it came to his girlfriend, willingly standing in line like a reqr guy to buy her snacks.

Several girls immediately red at their own boyfriends in annoyance. "I ask you for popcorn and youin, make excuses, and tell me to go wait in line myself... Look at him! He just went right up and did it."

Once Joshua returned with their snacks, the two of them entered the theater.

He had purchased tickets for the premium couples'' seating, which offered much more privacy than the standard rows.

They were the center of attention the entire time; even in the dim theater, people kept stealing nces at them.

The lights suddenly dimmed, and the movie began.

Ste pushed aside her chaotic thoughts and focused on the screen.

The opening scene featured a woman in a janitor''s uniform, expertly mopping a corporate floor.

A supervisor rushed over, barking at the woman, "Hurry up! The new manager will be here any minute."

Hearing this, the woman mopped even faster.

An office clerk jogged over to report, "Supervisor, the manager is on the elevator!"

The supervisor frantically waved at the janitor.

"That''s enough. Get out of here."

The woman nodded, grabbed her mop and bucket, and hurried to leave.

    Ding.

The elevator doors slid open, and a young, impably dressed man stepped out.

The supervisor immediately rushed forward to greet him. "Manager Shaw, wee."

The young man nodded curtly. The supervisor was just about to lead him on a tour of the office when disaster struck.

Suddenly, the bucket slipped from the janitor''s hands, crashing to the floor and spilling dirty water everywhere.

Themotion instantly drew the young manager''s attention.

The supervisor scowled furiously. "Rachel, what the hell is wrong with you? Can''t you do a simple job right?"
