Chapter 1839

"What happened after we came to Novaris?" Joshua asked.

    Harold''s expression changed instantly.

Joshua had forgotten everything that happened after arriving in Novaris.

No wonder Joshua hadn''t insisted on Ste staying with him. He wanted to confirm the details he didn''t know from him.

Suppressing the panic in his heart, Harold carefully recounted the events of the past few weeks.

Joshua was silent for a moment before asking, "When did Star get back?"

Harold replied, "She must havee back to find you right after she escaped, Mr. Gardner. It couldn''t have been more than an hour."

"Foreman..." Joshua repeated the name softly, then let out a low, unreadable chuckle. "I must have been out of my mind to tolerate that person prancing around in front of me for so long."

    Harold stared at Joshua, stunned.

It was true. Joshua had never been a soft-hearted person. After meeting Ste, Joshua had changed a lot, no longer as cruel and bloodthirsty as he once was. After so long, Harold had almost forgotten what Joshua used to be like.

Just as Harold was lost in thought, the man''s clear, crisp voice broke his reverie.

"Since Star just escaped not long ago, Foreman is probably still at home. Have someone set a fire. From now on, I don''t want to see that man again, nor do I want Richards Group to exist."

For some reason, Harold felt that Joshua seemed different from before.

But on second thought, maybe he wasn''t so different after all.

After all, this was indeed Joshua''s style of doing things. This time, Foreman had faked a death, which meant Foreman had finally signed his own death warrant with Joshua. Even if Joshua wasn''t as bloodthirsty as before, he would never let Foreman live.

"Yes, sir. I''ll take care of it right away," Harold said.

As Harold was about to leave, Joshua called him back. His dark eyes fell upon him.

"Harold, I have no patience for people who can''t keep their mouths shut. Do you understand?"

A shiver went down Harold''s spine. He found himself unable to meet Joshua''s gaze and instinctively lowered his head.

    "I understand."

After giving his instructions, Joshua got up and left the room to find Ste.

As he was about to go downstairs, his steps paused.

He saw Ste downstairs, chatting with Haynes.

There was a faint smile on her lips, and her gaze toward Haynes was no longer as cold as it had been before.

Haynes listened quietly, asionally nodding in response.

His gaze on Ste was calm. Though not as overt as Foreman''s, as another man how could Josi not see that Haynes was still in love with Ste and had no intention of giving up?

Joshua''s hearing was exceptional. Even from such a distance, he could vaguely make out their conversation.

After confirming that Joshua was all right, Ste finally had a moment to ask about Keen''s situation.

    "Is Keen okay?"

Haynes replied, "He''s fine. He only inhaled a small amount of smoke and was discharged from the hospital a few days ago. Keen asked me where you and Joshua were. I was afraid he''d worry, so I told him. you had some urgent business and had to go back to Solmaris for a while."

He paused here, then added, "Do you want to go see Keen tomorrow?"

Keen was Ste''s child, after all. He had nearly been burned to death because of

the adults'' feuds. There was no reason for Ste not to go see him.

"Okay, I''ll go see Keen tomorrow."

Haynes said in a low voice, "I''m sorry, Star. I didn''t watch Keen well enough."

Ste didn''t me Haynes. "You can''t follow Keen twenty-four hours a day. He''s so familiar with you. If

    Foreman intended to do this,

    ff a

Would have been very difficult to guard against."
