Aurora seemed to graduallye to her senses. She turned her head and nced at Queenie. "Queenie, you''re here."
That single look made Queenie feel a profound sense of unfamiliarity. She had a feeling that the elegant and noble Aurora she once knew had changed in some fundamental way.
It was normal for Aurora to have changed after returning from a ce like the Delta. But the emotional outburst Queenie had expected wasn''t there. Aurora was unnervingly calm. Even her eyes seemed deeper than before, as if shrouded in a thin mist that made it impossible to discern her true emotions. Moreover, Aurora''s entire demeanor had shifted. There was a newfound... seductiveness and allure in her every move. This was a look the old Aurora would never have had.
Queenie thought about the long time Aurora had spent in the Delta and almost instantly guessed what she must have endured. Aurora was young and beautiful, with a distinguished air that ordinary girlscked. In a ce like that, it was nearly impossible for her to have escaped unscathed.
Queenie had wanted to ask Aurora about her experience, but with this realization, her expression flickered with uncertainty, and she found she didn''t dare to ask.
However, Aurora seemed to read her mind. "We''ve been best friends for years," she said faintly. "If you want to ask something, just ask. You don''t have to hold back."
In the past, Queenie would have asked without hesitation. But now, she could clearly sense the change in Aurora and felt an inexplicable sense of awe mixed with fear. Aurora''s presence had be far more formidable than before.
If the old Aurora was a goddess, aloof and untouched by the world but not particrly aggressive, the Aurora of today was like a queen dragged down from the heavens into the mortal realm. Though she no longer had the untouchable elegance she once possessed, she now radiated an overwhelming power.
Unable to suppress her curiosity, Queenie asked softly, "Aurora, what exactly happened to you during these three months in the Delta?"
Aurora slowly sat up and began to tell her story. When she first arrived in the Delta, she was terrified, but she was safe. All her nightmares began when she was sent to the Fordham brothers.
Her voice was as gentle as flowing
water, her expression so detached it was as if she were talking about someone else. "Those brothers aren''t just cold-blooded killers; they''re depraved They get a sick thrill out of women''s agony, staging brutal, twisted ''shows'' fortheir own amusement."
In terms of both looks and temperament, Aurora was among the best in the brothers'' collection of women. She was noticed by them on her very first night. In fact, she
was taken by both of them that night.
But Aurora didn''t despair or try to
end her life Her virtue, like the skills she had learned, was merely a tool a bargaining chip for her
advancement. Losing it simpel ne
meant she had one less chip to y. She had personally witnessed how the brothers tortured women for their amusement. To sadistic killers like them, women were nothing more than toys. Even though it was her first time, it didn''t make them treat her any differently. After all, they had too many women, and they had possessed plenty of virgins before.
Aside from her looks, Aurora had no significant advantage.
Leaning back against the
headboard, she said calmly, "I not only had to survive at the hands of
those two deviants, but I also had to find a way to escape or hold out un someone found me. And very few of the women around them eversted more than three months
Queenie couldn''t help but ask, "Aurora, weren''t you scared then?"
Aurora smiled. "Scared? Of course I was scared. But I couldn''t die. I had to survive."
As she spoke, her gaze turned sharp. "One day, when they were about to choose someone to send into their garden of wild beasts, I volunteered."
