Mr. Walker didn''t think Autumn and Devin were rekindling anything, but he couldn''t help feeling jealous-he was only human, after all.
They''d been each other''s first love, and now, after all these years, their rtionship still wasn''t simple. Of course Mr. Walker kept his guard up.
Recently, Autumn seemed distant, lost in thought, and she was oddly invested in Julie''s situation. She''d even been talking about making Joseph her godson-all for Julie''s sake.
The assistant shot Mr. Walker a quick look, trying to guess what he was thinking. "Yes, Mr. Walker," he said.
Mr. Walker closed his eyes, looking calm on the outside, but inside, his thoughts were spinning out of control. He couldn''t stop wondering what Autumn and Devin might talk about, or what could happen between them.
After Mr. Walker left-
Autumn tried to shoo Devin out. "You''ve dropped off what you needed to, so you can go now."
"Come on, Autumn, we''re old friends. I haven''t even had breakfast yet-aren''t you going to invite me in for something to eat?" Devin grinned, shameless as ever. When Autumn didn''t answer, he just strolled in on his own.
The housekeeper was clearing the table. Devin shed a smile. "Hey, don''t pack everything up yet. Could you make me a bowl of noodles?"
The housekeeper nced at Autumn, who''d followed Devin in.
"Go ahead," Autumn said, trying to sound casual. She had to treat Devin like just another guest.
She hoped he''d eat and leave.
Once the noodles were served, Autumn found an excuse to send the
housekeeper out to buy groceries.
But Devin clearly had no ns to leave. He finished eating, then headed upstairs.
"Devin, what are you doing?" Autumn hurried after him.
"Just want to see which room you and Mr. Walker sleep in. This one?" Devin pushed open a door. "Wow, that''s a huge bed."
Mr. Walker had bought that bed especially so Autumn could sleep morefortably.
Devin grinned and flopped onto the mattress. "This is soft-really nice."
"Devin, get up! You''ve got some nerve. Get out-right now!" Autumn was furious. "Are you trying to get me killed?"
Devin pulled her into his arms, bold as ever. "Wouldn''t it be wild to fool around on this bed? Mr. Walker would never imagine-his wife carrying my child, not only did I sleep with his wife, I slept in his bed too."
"Who said the baby is yours?" Autumn snapped, struggling free. "Devin, get out. Now."<fnb73f> Newest update provided by fι?dnοvel</fnb73f>
"Autumn, really? Turn your back on me now? After I put a baby in you, you''re just going to pretend I don''t exist?" Devin sprawled across the bed, refusing to budge. "Don''t worry, Autumn, I''m not stupid enough to let Mr. Walker find out about us. I''m just waiting for our son to be born. He''s going to do great things someday."
Autumn realized there was no getting rid of Devin so easily.
"Devin, what happened between us was a mistake."
Just then, a wave of nausea hit her-morning sickness.
Seeing how sick Autumn looked, Devin finally sobered up a bit.
"Autumn..." Devin''s tone shifted, suddenly tender. "It''s my fault I can''t give our son his real name. I just get angry thinking about Mr. Walker, sol came here to mess with him. But you have to take care of yourself-don''t forget those

supplements. They''re good for you
and the baby." s
Autumn thought back to when she was pregnant with Julie-Devin hadn''t been so considerate then.
Regret softened her heart as she saw this new side of him.
She had no idea Mr. Walker already knew about her and Devin.
Mr. Walker had gone to Crescent Bay for a conference, where Herman had arranged a little surprise.
Soon enough, someone would let slip the truth about Julie and Autumn right in front of Mr. Walker.
After arriving in Crescent Bay, Mr. Walker attended a meeting, then anotherworking event.
On his way to the restroom, he overheard two men chatting in the hallway.
At first, he didn''t pay attention, about to duck into the restroom, but then he heard Devin''s name.
He paused in the shadows, listening.
"Devin called me the other day
asking for fifty grand. Just like that.
With the way he''s always broke, he couldn''t even scrape together five hundr
redbucks He doesn''t want a loan-he wants a handout s
"He called you too? That''s funny, he tried me as well—I just ignored him. Brown
Corporation only got this far because of his daughter, you know."
"Julie is a handful. I told Devin years ago to rein her in, but he never listened."
"Well, Julie''s his first love''s kid. He spoils her because she looks just like her mom."
"Wait-wasn''t she Mrs. Brown''s daughter?"
"No way. I''ve known Devin for
decades. Julie''s mother was his first
love-think her name was Yan or

something The Browns didn''t
approve of her, so they sent her away and kept the kid." s
The words hit Mr. Walker like a punch to the gut.
Julie was the daughter of his wife and Devin?
