Chapter 360

Vince had no clue what Timothy was up to. The guy was acting all mysterious, so Vince leaned in, thinking maybe Timothy wanted to share a secret.

Instead, Timothy quickly plucked a hair from Vince''s head.

"You had a gray hair. I took care of it for you."

"So much drama over a single gray hair?"

Timothy made a show of tossing it into the trash, but in reality, he kept it clenched in his palm.

"Are you going to tell me which hospital she''s in or not?"

"I can give you her home address, but that''s it. Wait until she''s discharged, give her some time to rest. I visited her yesterday—it''s nothing serious. She''ll be out soon."

Vince gave in, and Timothy didn''t press further.

Vince ended up giving Timothy the address of the apartment he''d arranged for Jessica.

After breakfast, Abell and Sandra went out for a walk, leaving only She at home. She stood outside, eavesdropping on Vince and Timothy''s conversation through the open window.

They were vague, talking in fragments, so She couldn''t piece together the full story. But one thing was obvious: Timothy was here for Jessica, desperate to see her and set things straight.

If Timothy managed to exin himself and Jessica forgave him, their marriage would continue-and She''s chances would disappear entirely.

That was not the oue She wanted.

Timothy belonged to her, and she absolutely refused to let Jessica a mute- steal the man she loved most.

The Zimmerman family was equally frustrating. For such an old-money, prominent household, it was absurd how well they treated Jessica. Vince even suggested Jessica pretend to be his younger sister.

What if Mrs. Zimmerman took a liking to Jessica and decided to officially make her part of the family? That would only raise Jessica''s status even higher.

When She heard the conversation winding down, she slipped outside and sat in her car.

She waited until Vince came out, got into his own car, and then quietly followed him.

Vince parked at the hospital. That all but confirmed to She where Jessica was staying.

After Vince went inside, She trailed behind, keeping a low profile until she finally located Jessica''s hospital room.

By that point, Jessica had already packed up and was ready to leave.

"You''re getting discharged already? It''s only been a day," Vince said.

Jessica smiled and typed out a message on her phone for Vince to read: "It''s

nothing serious. I just need to rest at home."

"Then let me drive you back."

    Jessica quickly typed another

message I already made ns with Herbert he''sing to pick me up. And about the apartment you arranged for me, I can''t just stay there for free. Let me pay you."

Vince let out a sigh. Was she really treating him like andlord?

"Jessy, the gift you gave my grandfather was priceless. If he found out was charging you rent for an apartment, he''d probably give me a good talking-to. Don''t bring up money again-it''s too formab between us."

Given his rtionship with Timothy, there was no way he''d ever ask Jessica for payment.

    "Well... thank you, then."

Just as they were talking, Herbert arrived. He spotted Vince and couldn''t help but feel a twinge of difort-Vince always seemed a little too attentive to Jessica. Jessica said her goodbyes to Vince.

Though Vince would''ve liked to drive her himself, it was obvious Jessica was closer to Herbert. He walked outside with them, watched Jessica get into Herbert''s car, and waved as she left.

During the drive, Herbert had to focus on the road, making conversation difficult.

Back when he''d given Jessica the voice-emitting ne, it had made things so much easier—they could chat freely, even in the car.

Lately, though, Jessica hadn''t been wearing it. Her neck was bare, and Herbert couldn''t help but wonder why.
