Chapter 898

She searched the entire second floor, refusing to stop until she found him. After

an hour, even the servants had joined in, worry etched across their faces. Finally, one of them, eyes rimmed red, spoke up softly, "Ma''am, did something really happen to Mr. Davis? We all saw the news."

ra froze in ce, everything suddenly feeling unreal, as if she were standing outside of her own life. So the news wasn''t just some terrible nightmare. It was real. Dn was gone.

She took a shaky step back, ignoring the servant''s question. Without another word, she headed downstairs, got in her car, and drove straight to Westhill Cemetery.

This ce held Dn''s secrets-if he was still alive, this was where he''de. He always did.

She called Richard again. He picked up but didn''t say anything. ra was quiet for a moment, then said, "I want to go in. To Westhill Cemetery."

Richard let out a long, heavy breath. "Go ahead."

She ended the call and passed through the second checkpoint without any trouble. When she reached the manor at the cemetery''s heart, she braced herself for resistance, but nobody stopped her this time.

Inside, the manor was as beautiful as ever-so perfect it felt surreal, almost unsettling. ra wandered the halls for two hours, searching for anything, any sign of him. Nothing. Just the staff, moving around quietly, as if they too were ghosts haunting the ce.<fn75e2> Latest content published on f?ndnovel</fn75e2>

Exhausted, she finally stepped outside. The sun was setting, painting the sky in gold and pink. From the hilltop, the view was breathtaking. ra let out a bitter littleugh and sat down, staring at the fading light, her mind empty and heavy all at once.

She didn''t know what to do anymore. It felt like something vital inside her had caved in. She wanted to believe this was just one of Dn''s twisted games, that he was punishing her for wanting a divorce. Maybe he was hiding somewhere right now, watching her fall apart, that smug smile on his lips. He''d always loved messing with her head like this.

Her head ached. She sat there until thest sliver of sunlight vanished and the cold crept in. When she finally stood up, her legs were numb and unsteady. She almost tripped on the esctor down.

By the time she left Westhill Cemetery, night had fallen. Outside, she saw Ryan waiting by the car, Uno standing next to him.

Uno hadn''t eaten all day. He wore an oversized tracksuit, hood pulled up, looking smaller than usual.

Both men straightened up when ra appeared. She barely acknowledged them, just walked past and climbed into the car, utterly spent.

Ryan slipped behind the wheel, Uno settling beside her in the backseat. They drove in silence, heading home. But halfway there, ra spoke, her voice barely above a whisper. "I want to go to Palm Bay tonight."

Ryan''s hands tightened on the steering wheel, but he didn''t argue. He just changed direction.

Palm Bay was chaos when they

arrived. Justin and Lucius were already there. The staff was packing, up ready to leave When ra walked in, some of the servants looked at her with hope, but it quickly faded from their faces.  s

One of them stepped forward, speaking quietly. "Ma''am, thank you for everything.

The Ferguson family sent people—they''re taking the ce back."

ra''s hand clenched into a fist at her side as she looked at Justin and Lucius, who were lounging on the sofa like they owned the ce.

    Behind them stood a group

    ra had done to Michael.

They knew ra could fight. That''s why they''d brought over thirty men tonight,

certain she couldn''t take them all.

ra fixed her icy gaze on Lucius. "Was that truck your doing?"

    ''e''

Lucius let out a lowugh, like he couldn''t believe she was still trying. "ra, let''s not pretend. Yeah, the truck was ours. But honestly, we should be thanking you. If you hadn''t dragged Dn out, we wouldve never known how close he was to the edge. Really ruthless of you, making him go to the courthouse like that. You practically handed us the chance on a silver tter. Now you''re a living widow. You brought this on yourself."  s
